Despite mediocre reviews we had a great evening, highly recommend 1/2 Duck to begin with and shredded beef as the main ..wine was great and attentive staff.

·

Restaurant looks very cozy. Service was good. The duck was the highlight for me.

I was really impressed by the great service and nice staff working there. Foods are fine. The only imperfect thing was the Dimsum. Anyway, I really like the place and think it's the best Chinese around the Bank area so far!!

So, I came here before and after Covid. And after Covid, their menu changed. Also, perhaps the chef's changed too. Some of my old favourite are no longer available. I would recommend the "Kirin Special" section on the menu. Those dishes are far better than other common ones. My favourite has to be the veal with black pepper and red wine. It was amazing. And please save your money (around 30 pound) by not ordering the Sichuan chilli crayfish... There is barely anything to eat... Instead, order Lobster noodle if you want to get your hands dirty! Lobster was very fresh and tasty. Aubergine in sea fish sauce was very good as well. Softshell crab, not the best. It's fresh but the batter is not ideal. Not really crunchy like tempura. The deep fried oyster was also just normal. Lotus leaf rice was good.

Great food and the waiting staff were top quality, but it could have been improved if the staff were perhaps more aware of customers waiting - we were waiting in the upstairs bit for around ten minutes before walking down ourselves. Typically you would expect someone on the front reception but on this occasion it was not the case.

Fancy decorations, the lavatory is really pretty and clean.Unfortunately food wasn't great, we have ordered 4 dishes, 2 of them are good, other 2 are disaster.Good 2 dishes: chill crab and duck & Mushroom fried rice, now is crab season, the yolk is fabulous, fried rice got that nice and tasty wok hay.Bad 2 dishes: Roast meat San Pin and Strawberry Pork ribs, Roast meat is super dull, almost has no flavor, strawberry ribs were using frozen ribs, and was unbalanced.Price is about £30 per person if you don't order alcohol.

The food was ok tasting but overpriced! We had a meal for two which came to £50pp with no alcohol added just a soft drink, water, tea, two starters and two mains. I’ve experienced much better food elsewhere without the exaggerated prices. It was also very empty for a Saturday night which is likely indicative of the value for money, so many better options available. I’m happy to pay more for better quality and a great dining experience but this place didn’t quite hit the mark so I won’t be returning.

Such a pleasure to experience the new set menu for Valentine’s celebration. The chef has done a fantastic job in designing this menu, great flavours, gorgeous presentation.I love the fact that you get so much goodness over many courses, my comments in no particular order: The sweet & sour fish was heaven on earth; The shrimps were huge and delicious; The lamb chops were packed full of flavours; love the crispy duck salad; the asparagus was full of freshness; the rice is just beautiful check it out in my photos; the dessert, by the time I got to it I was so full from eating all the dishes lol. And l cannot forget the pumpkin soup served in the beginning, it was absolutely delightful so creamy and delicious.I have always loved Kirin Chinese restaurant, one of the best imo. But this special menu just elevated the game again, I think it will be on for sometime recommend you go try it while it’s there. And I cannot ignore the fact that this set menu is actually one of the best value for money considering the many courses of fantastic food that you get to enjoy. I cannot wait to have it again with my friends, maybe before karaoke next time. I am excited to taste what the chef comes up with in the future, given the incredible standard I have seen here.
