It's a very nostalgic place for every Indian. The afternoon tea has an Indian twist too. The staff are extremely hospitable and lovely. Amazing ambience.

Amazing high tea. Our family dietary requirements can be challenging, but Kona hit the mark with each off us. One put veggie, one veggie who eats eggs, one with allergies of eggs and nuts, and me who who will try anything.The setting was perfect, the staff very attentive and informative about the food when it was presented, and when it was presented, WOW it looked amazing and tasted exceptional. A great fusion of traditional English high tea with an Indian twist.Marvelous, great work from the whole team, and many thanks for a giving us a truly wonderful time.

We had the Jasmine Afternoon Tea which was delicious. Beautifully presented, delicious food and a great selection of teas. We went for a birthday celebration and it was a real treat.

Great experience with the Alice in wonderland afternoon tea. Venue is elegant and comfortable. Also surprisingly kids friendly. Food is not the best I’ve ever had but the decoration really is unique. Overall good experience and would recommend for others.

Jasmine Afternoon Tea at Kona.Located near Buckingham palace, within the Taj51 hotel and the setting is very pretty.Our booking was for 12.30pm and we arrived 5 mins or so early.When we arrived- unfortunately Kona didn't have anyone to greet us so when you proceeded to enter the restaurant, one of the staff came out and said the restaurant isnt ready yet (not in the most nice and polite way). As other guests came in, they were treated the same. There weren't enough space in the lobby area so people were just left hanging around. Shortly after the hotel receptionist kindly took some guests to the hotel reception area to take a seat.Given that this is supposed to be luxury experience- it makes sense to have someone to welcome the guests arriving for the afternoon tea.Once the door was open - they were a bit more efficient to take our coats and show us our table.The afternoon tea itself was Indian inspired and it is a bit hit and miss. The paneer pakora and the tikka wrap were excellent but didn't enjoy the tomato sandwich so much.Masala tea lacked flavour but Turkish apple tea was great!Desserts were the best of the afternoon tea and they nailed the selection except for the cookies which were really hard to bite into.The waitress that hosted us was very nice and friendly.For £45 pp and 12.5% I thought it was decent. We did have a bit of leftover which we took home!

We choose the theme of Alice wonderland for our afternoon tea. The Decoration was fancy. Pricy but worth to pay it. As service is excellent. Friendly staffs helped us to take a lot of photos😁👍

If you’re looking for a themed afternoon tea, look no further than Kona. It is situated right past the courtyard of the Taj hotel. They have 18 different teas to choose from and several different themes that must be reserved 24 hours in advance. I did their take on Mary Poppins and it was fantastic plus a TON of food. Highly recommend.

On short notice, we had a wonderful experience with the Alice in Wonderland afternoon tea. I don't have enough words to describe how wonderful it was. Have a look at the pictures, and judge by yourself. The next time I go London I will order a Sherlock Holmes Afternoon tea 24 h. In advance. Thanks to the staff to be so nice to us, the make this possible for us in 45 minutes.

Kona at the Taj 51 has some amazing afternoon tea themes. We went for the Alice in Wonderland theme. When we arrived the table was already set up with some props to fit with the theme which were cool. The food itself was also delicious and really went well with the theme. One of the party is pregnant and they were very good at making a menu safe for her to eat. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here.
