L'Artiste Muscle in City of London

Overpriced food and not at all quality matching the price, very average/poor.A "French" restaurant in that it has a few old posters on the wall and some french style seats, a rundown style which seems by accident not on purpose. Not french in terms of quality of food, though maybe in service! :)I had the steak which looked so pale I wondered if it was oven cooked, (though the chips were at least very tasty) and companion had fish. Even the tap water tasted weird, while the wine was pretty bad too.

We were delighted to discover this lovely little piece of France in the heart of Shepherd Market. A true bistro with reasonably priced food that is delicious supplemented by a quirky interior and simply amazing staff. We will return

A disappointing visit; overpriced and mediocre food, amateurish service. There was no ventilation system in the kitchen (COVID never happened in this restaurant) so the entire room was filled with smoke and my clothes are now on their way to the dry cleaner.To finish off an already depressing dinner my partner burned her hand while trying to move a candle. With the owner simply replying "ah well, I burn my hands all the time, do you want more wine?". Obviously we won't be back. But we would advise everyone else to also stay away. Far, far away.

My fiancé and I were looking for somewhere new to dine and came across this restaurant. Straight away very attentive, kind and friendly service, then tasty food with lovely ambiance. Very cosy where we were seated. I forgot my handbag after I left and didn't even realise. One of the waiters ran out and kindly gave it back to me. Thank you and for such an enjoyable, romantic evening!

Really nice restaurant and très chaleureux ! We felt like we were in Paris ;)

Food was amazing, and the service was great. You could see the kitchen when the chef was preparing the food and this was so authentic. I had the soup of the day and the sea bass which were both tasty and fresh. Their mousse au chocolat is a blessing.Would definitely recommend it, feel like I travelled to France

The food was absolutely fantastic especially the seafood main. The setting is super cute too, it’s a nice family run restaurant, a rarity in Mayfair. Definitely my new go to restaurant.

Service was nice, food was not. Overpaid for a dry risotto which I was eating until I bit a bitter mushroom. It wasn’t even busy at the time. I felt embarrassed to have brought my friends there.

A very good meal. I had the moules marinière and the boeuf bourguingnon - both prepared superbly. My wife had the asparagus and smoked salmon terrine followed by the entrcôte with bernaise - again excellent. We washed it down with a reasonable merlot.Booking recommended - perhaps only 5 tables on the ground floor, with others in the basement area (though the downstairs dining did not seem open the evening we were there).Toilets are downstairs. Complimentary WiFi.
