Mama Dumplings in City of London

This is an old school Asian restaurant where the food is excellent and very well priced. Yvonne is in charge and cannot do enough for you when you arrive. You can see through to the kitchen and everything being made as you wait and drink an ice cold Vietnamese beer. This place deserves Sutton to get behind it more. Give it a go if you have just stepped off the train or heading for a night out.

Little bit disappointed with this place, average food and nothing special, mostly shades of orange and yellow sticky over cooked “meat”. They have recently changed to a Vietnamese restaurant but that lasted about 4-6 weeks (Winter 2017) and is currently shut for refurbishments but it’s taken an exceptionally long time 🧐 hoping for improvements when (or if) it reopens. I’d go somewhere else if there’s options.

Had the chicken noodle soup. The soup itself was incredible, but I didn't like the chicken bits. Other than that, the spring rolls ate lovely and staff are very nice.

What I heard it's under new management and it's a Vietnamese restaurant now. I bought some takeaway. Food was not bad

The spring rolls were burnt hard rock. Seafood was old and the carrot tasted a bit sour.My order was not even completely served. I ordered tea and it never came but they charged.Waitress barely speaks English.Overall, I had a bad experience.

Had great service from a very friendly group of staff that make you enjoy your visit and feel welcome at this place. Would certainly recommend to any one couples, family groups....

still waiting for delivery more than an hour i have waited and no one has called to apologize , tried to call three times first two times went on voice mail and the third time they managed to pick up the phone they said that the delivery guy is on its way will be here in 5mts times , now i am regretting why did i order food if i have to wait more than an hour for food to arrive. I would not recommend delivery for customers and the staff are not friendly on the phone .Very very disappointed in Mama Dumplings . I use to like the food there as i have been to the restaurant but after this experience i will never order food for delivery or go there , after the experience i have had .

Staff is not really friendly, however they are helpful, but they should try to put on a welcoming smile as well... I do understand, if their behaviour comes with their culture, but please..., in this international country you seem to be frozen, if you are so rough.Food was excellent - I tried spring rolls and a chow mein, I loved it.Reasonable price, clean restaurant. I will visit again! :)

Disappointed.Was recommended Mama Dumplings by a friend so decided to give them a go rather than my normal Chinese so phoned to order food. Had to constantly repeat myself to make sure the order was correct and then not only was i told that the price was higher than their menu stated, was also told i would be charged for delivery which their menu didn't state.....By the time the cost was worked out it was about £6 higher than the menu said it should be (and also approx £10 higher than the place i normally order from which is very good).I cannot comment on the food as decided to order else where due to the price and attitude of the staff member taking my order, but as much as i have been told by 1 person how good they are, i would not recommend ordering for delivery.

This is my favorite restaurant and no other Chinese restaurant can compare!! yes it is more than your average chinese prices but when you taste the food you can definitely see why. The staff are very pleasant and efficient. To dine in and take away is very pleasant and the food is delicious!!
