Mamma V's Caribbean and English Cuisine in City of London

DO NOT GO HERE. TRUST ME. I ordered their jerk chicken with rice and peas. The food took over an hour to arrive and when it came it was nearly midnight. After taking the first spoonful of the rice I could taste that it was slimy so probably had gone off. I had to throw the food away. Early hours of the morning I woke up feeling very unwell. After a few hours I started vomiting+ diarrhoea and was feeling extremely unwell. DEFINITELY FOOD POISONING. I eat from Caribbean restaurants regularly and this is definitely the worst I've ever had. I repeat refrain from going here

Ordered jerk chicken and hard food today. Jerk chicken nothing like the slow cooked on a charcoal grill with thick sauce jerk you get in Jamaica- it lacked the char. Hard food was half cooked- I mean come on its not that difficult to steam some root veg.

Was hungry at 10pm and ordered jerk chicken with rice and peas and plantain. It was delicious, definitely recommend coming here and the lady who made the food was so kind and polite.

Absolutely rude woman bad food bad customer service. this woman took my card details and didnt click delivery she clicked collect. that woman tried to scam me and refused to give me back my money until i apolagised for her mistake. which was her ignoring me and not responding to my calls when my order was placed at 9pm, restaurant closes at 11pm and she refused to answer my calls

Almost all negative reviews here seem to be for delivery services, which is a shame!!This review is for the food and service, not prices.I'm new to Caribbean food so went in with no excitations, and ended up with takeaway curry goat and macaroni cheese!The meat was very tasty and I would have loved more meat on the bones, but the food is generally very good and service very friendly.

My order come over an hour late and to make it worse it was wrong with sweet potato in the hard food. When I called all I was meant with was arrogance and very poor customer service by the cook. I had to threw half the hard food away because they did not want to rectify the matter. Very poor.ADDED AFTER: The response below is exactly what I mean by poor customer service. I phoned and she would not even let me speak. Now accusing me of being rude when there was never a bad word from me throughout the call. It's quite clear the person that wrote the response is also the one claiming she was a victim of me being rude. She spent the time claiming all Carribbean restaurants provide sweet potato in hard food and when I said they did not she literally called me a liar. The food was still very hot so blaming the driver is quite unfair. A very sad run of excuses to an issue that could of been resolved very easily.

Had curry goat rice and peas and jerk chicken wings. The best jerk chicken wings I’ve ever had maybe even best wings I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot of wings), they Literally fell off the bone and the jerkk sauce was perfectly spiced! Curry goat meat was soft and melted in my mouth I would of liked more sauce but I’ll just ask for more next time. The lady I spoke to was nice, polite and accommodating I’ll definitely Be coming back to try more of the menu!
