We had 2 course set menu and were very pleased at both the quality and fair value of the meal. 😌

My mum and I were originally planning to eat at 'The Duck and Rice' just across the road from here but the restaurant was loud and felt cheap, so we were so happy to find the 'Mediterranean Cafe' opposite. The restaurant is very clean and cosy, with great music. Our waitress, Lagotta (sorry I'm definitely spelling that wrong), was very friendly, attentive, and helpful as my mum wanted to add prawns to her salad, which was not a problem. The food was very fresh, simple, and for an excellent price. We had a really lovely meal here before going to the theatre. I would definitely recommend!

The Atmosphere is lovely which attracted us in but the service was not very good. We ended up waiting 40 mins sitting there waiting for our food which is mainly two grilled meat dishes. The place was full and the chef was trying but unfortunately failing meeting all the orders on time. I think they had too many people in to be able to rightfully serve. The meals came and they were below average my lamb kebab was burnt a bit. My boyfriends grill chicken salad felt like the chicken was put on a bag of supermarket salad. It was not very good. We were mistakenly charged a wrong dish as well which was a few pounds more than what we ordered and got, they were going to refund immediately but we said not to worry about it as we kind of had our fill of things going wrong. Be aware you will be charged for service on your bill but service should really get better for the charge to be fair.

I love this place. It’s like stepping into a different world. Wonderful, friendly service and delicious down-to-earth cuisine. I had the calamari and vegetable moussaka. My children loved it too

Just really nice food in the centre of town…..

Always enjoy here. Great food, generous portions, lovely staff and a great location.

It's not fine dining (it's a licensed cafe), tasty food at not an exorbitant price for central London tourist zone. Plenty for a veggie they had the moussaka I had chicken. Two empty plates. We sat under the speaker and the waitress turned down music when asked. Good service, speedy. Loo was clean. We went on a Tuesday night so it wasn't so crowded. Newspaper cutting on wall is from 1999 - 3 courses for a tenner!

Used to love this place in the past; it was my go to place to bring friends from out of town to. Recently visited for the first time since late 2019 and feel like standards have slipped a bit. The owner is as nice and accommodating as always, but service from wait staff was lacklustre and inattentive. Had to ask for some things several times, and they weren't that friendly imo. Food was not bad, but not as good as I remember it to be, and they didn't have what I was hoping to order on this occasion, which was a little disappointing. I hope that the warm and welcoming spirit of the restaurant that I remember will return with time.

OLD REVIEW FROM 2018: Love the cosy atmosphere! The service is great and the food is also good.2021 UPDATE: While the rest of the waiting staff were nice and friendly, there was one incompetent waitress (possibly new because she clearly didn't know what she was doing and clearly had no training). When she was clearing the table she clearly didn't know how to do it safely (I've been a waitress in the past). She piled up lots of plates where I was sitting, i.e. on top of small plates (while leaving forks on the plate) she put big plates with forks on etc. And as you can imagine a tower of plates such as this is not very stable. All of a sudden half of the plates fell off the plate tower on me and stained my shorts red with mussels in a tomato sauce. She then said sorry and rushed off with the plates, and that was it!! I expected her to come back with a damp towel or ANYTHING so I could clean up that mess on my lap, but she just disappeared! Another waiter saw it and offered me tissues (dry ones, I had to ask for wet tissues). I just cannot believe how awful the service was by her. Who drops dirty dishes on a customer and leaves without offering anything to clean up!? I emailed this restaurant about it and didn't get a response.. sad how one incompetent person can ruin your opinion of the whole restaurant.
