London institution. Don't listen to the bad reviews. Give it a try for your self. Good decent Indian food. Been going there for years. Yes it's full of suits but it's because of the location people, come on. Thanks for stating the obvious.

Random find for us in City one evening. Bland, modern interior, and FULL of corporate suits. Perfectly OK standard British curry menu; service very good in early evening, probably busy at lunchtime. About 50% more expensive than your local curry house, this reflects the location.

·

Very expensive (presumably due to location). A short stroll across to Brick Lane will literally halve the cost of that Indian meal you've been craving.

·

Very expensive and extremely bland. If you like good Indian food avoid!

Exceptional Indian food. This was my first experience in Mehek restaurant in London Wall and I must say that it was great. Amazing food, attentive service and good atmosphere. We tried the Recommended menu. The dishes were mostly traditional with an exceptional twist and very well prepared. A great experience and I definitely would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Do not eat here unless you want to be overcharged. We had 3 bottles of beer between us with our meal and were billed for 3 bottles and 2 pints. When challenged, the waiter could not explain how the 2 pints we never asked for or received appeared on our bill, and got angry when I asked for him to take the 2 pints and the service charge off the bill (if I had felt it was an innocent mistake, I would have been happy to pay the service charge). The food quality was also well below par for what I would expect in London, and way more expensive than typical central London costs. Avoid! There is a good curry house nearby at the Barbican. Also, at least some of the 5* reviews below look suspiciously like they may not be genuine and could just perhaps have been engineered by the restaurant!

At best its okay. The food is pricey and the service was not up to scratch for the prices they are charging. When we were there only three tables were occupied, but the waiters were almost in hiding throughout the entire night.I have been to way better Indian restaurants in London and Bedford for a lot less money and better level of service.Somewhat disappointed with the the level of service considering where it is located.

A group of 12 of us visited on 20 DEC 2013 around 8pm. The restaurant was empty when we arrived and was 1/3rd full when we left. It should have been a warning sign. From the very start, the service was slow, and never got any better. We got papadoms to start off and this was the best dish of the night!I ordered "King Prawn Butterfly" which costs £7.30. It was basically a single frozen Iceland breadcrumbed prawn which had been flattened (hence "butterfly"). Suffice to say, I was pretty shocked to receive it but ate it nonetheless as I was hungry. The next horror was my main course, which was a Ak-Bari Lamb shank at £14.90 which was a Chef's Special. If this was their special, god knows what the other "normal" dishes were like. It was basically a frozen lamb shank heated up with some spices thrown over the joint and served. Not the slow cooked, herb/spice infused lamb the menu described. It was awful. The icing on the cake was the various pilau rice, naan breads, mushroom rice etc sides that appeared on the table. We queried whether they came with our meals? No they didn't, the waiter replied....In his own words "We thought we would order this on your behalf to complete/accompany your meal". The cost of all of these sides was added to our meal naturally.10 starters, 12-mains, countless side dishes (which most of it was ordered on our behalf by the rather helpful waiters), 3 bottles of wine at around £22 each, 9 cobra beers and two soft drinks came up to £450.70. Add in a 10% service charge, and the bill came up to a grand total of £495.77, which worked out to be £38.50 per person.Nearly £40 for one of the worst meals of my life, and I've had better for much less. At the other end of the spectrum, my girlfriend and I spent £250 for a meal at Nobu just over a month ago, and around £150 for dinner at Hakkasan 3 months ago. Pricey meals but well worth it. This dump of a curry house should be investigated by trading standards for what they are doing.Oh, for the coup de grâce, I had a dodgy tummy the next day and spent the morning in the loo. Thanks Mehek, you have truly outdone yourselves.

A colleague and I ate there in August 2012. The food & service was great. One one the best Indian meals I've had in a long time.

After looking at the mixed reviews we thought would would pay a visit to Mehek. I have to say it's the best indian food I have eaten in London. The staff are so friendly and welcome you with a nice smile. I would def say pay a visit.
