Melur in City of London

I’m actually very disappointed with the food. The sayur lodeh was the worst I have ever eaten in my life honestly. Just look at the color in the picture and the portion was so tiny. There were cherry tomatoes and broccoli in this sayur lodeh too. The fried kway teow was so spicy and didn’t taste authentic at all. I would not come back here. I’m sorry.

Used to be one of my favourite restaurant but this place has changed…Roti canai is still good but the price is now £5.50 for 2 kosong..Plain rice is at £2.90 but unlike pictures by other reviewers, mine wasn’t plated nicely at all. In fact it was cold, hard and dry, splashed across the plate…like it’s at least 2 days oldTauhu Telur doesn’t look like the picture in the menu at all…(see photo for dish vs menu)Teh O Kosong Suam is £3.20! 18 times Malaysia’s price! When paying I noticed that the price turned £3.30. When I asked about this, the service crew said she needed to check with the boss. At this point I thought the management must have changed given the drastic drop in standards but the same Mak Cik came out and returned 2 pieces of 5 cents to me looking rather glum..Melur needs to buck up. Not stepping in again until I hear that it has improved

Second time to Melur and well, it was good decision again, especially having Kari Laksa in winter. Not to mention how they put shrimps, slices of chicken breast, rich flavor of tofus absorbing the noodle’s soup. So good! I also ordered Mee Mamak which I would expect to be spicier, but it was nice and rich of flavors. Lastly, the chicken was for me the reason to have Nasi Kandar. It was crispy skin with juicy meat. Tasty to the bone indeed! Teh Tarik perfectly accompanied all the dishes I had then. Thank you, Melur!

I've been here twice now and the first time I got the Teh Tharik and Mee Goreng Mamak which were good. However, today I was met with a surprise. Or rather surprises.In the photo you see my order of orange juice and pad Thai. As my mouth salivated after a full day of involuntary fasting, I leaned in to stir the chili flakes into the noodles. Then I saw them. Tiny movements. Among the red chili flakes, bugs were crawling all over. I couldn't believe what I was seeing yet they were real. I promptly returned the plate, and I was offered another pad Thai with no chili flakes. There were no issues thereafter but now I seriously question the sanitation of the kitchen as well as the quality of ingredients used.

Truly authentic, Malaysian Food In London. I have tried every Malaysian Restaurants In London. I must admit this restaurant & service is amazingly superb that I am very happy to give 5 star rating to MELUR RESTAURANT. Every Dishes is very authentic 💯% Halal and the taste is very consistent to the best standard.Well Done. Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Went there for lunch today. The place has a relaxed atmosphere, spacious, clean and felt like a family place. Had light touches of decorations which gave it a pleasant simple Malaysian feel. Food was good to satisfy our Malaysian cravings, no disappointments. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. We ordered asam laksa, roti canai and nasi lemak plus teh tarik and milo ais (iced milo). None of them were disappointing. The asam laksa soup was homemade, not made from paste from packet, no funny substitute ingredients either. Roti canai came with dhal curry (very mild, not spicy).The highlight is their nasi lemak. It was supposed to come with chicken rendang but they allowed us to substitute with ayam goreng kunyit (tumeric fried chicken). Really hit the spot. Nothing beats a good old fashioned Malay ayam goreng kunyit, came out crunchy outside, moist, tender, flavourful and full of kampung fried goodness. Really puas. Sambal was not too spicy and was piquant, can banjir or lather over the nasi (which was fresh and lemak). Ikan bilis was crunchy and not too salty (unlike most other places), peanuts not burnt. All up to standard. Pak Awie served us complimentary fruit as dessert (fresh cut persimmon which was firm, sweet and cool). A great pencuci mulut choice. Service was great, food came within 15-20 minutes. Will look out for their once a month buffet day on their facebook page. This place will be our regular haunt whenever we want good Malaysian food.

Had a really good nasi kandar and mie udang few days ago. the owner can speak melayu. they seems like really nice people, although i had to wait for long time for one person meal.

First Time for me at this restaurant and I loved it 😊👍🙌 .I recommend to book beforehand because it can get busy just call in and they will accommodate you no problems.I really loved the food and the staff is so friendly . Malaysian food it's so tasty 😋✌️....I will definitely coming back soon.
