A fantastic old pub that's somehow survived all the development around it. Serves the Shepherd Neame beers with a few others available too. Usually packed, as it's surrounded by businesses, but the bar staff are incredible and keep the drinks coming.

Absolutely fantastic service levels. Pre lockdown they were always quick, but since reopening they have shown impeccable service. Staff are attentive, beers arrive very quickly. My only complaint would be that the beer isn't interesting. Would happily pay more for something along the lines of beavertown or brewdog on offer over bear Island.

I went for a Christmas booking with sit down meal served in the upstairs function room.The setting is great, it's an ancient boozer and it looks it (in the nicest possible way!). The venue has plenty of history. Staff were attentive and kept checking on us. The food was surprisingly good and well worth the set menu price. We shared our room with another party but didn't feel on top of each other at all.Recommended for an intimate function.

My family tried to stop here for some refreshing bewerages on a hot London day. Were told kids were not welcome! (A daughter aged nine). Never heard anything like it! Londons unfriendliest pub? Stay away! A total crapper.
