Nice environment and friendly service but food lacked innovation and some dishes weren't balanced well (overpowering vinegar drowning out delicate salmon etc.)

Wow, what a disappointment. Odd menu, some main meals sent back (turkey pie), poor service, low atmosphere. To top it off, at 10.30pm, the staff starting noisily moving tables, stacking wine buckets and ironing table cloths around us - not what I’d expect from an expensive restaurant while it still has customers. Two stars for the lovely stained glass windows

A perfect spot for a relaxed and friendly lunch, beautiful food, great service and a really comfortable atmosphere. The smoked eel sandwich is lovely and we really felt great about being here.

We hosted our work Christmas lunch here and everything was spot on. The food was so tasty and fresh, service was great and the private dining room we were in the (The Blue Room) was so beautifully decorated and cosy, exactly what you want from a Christmas lunch.

I have previously reviewed this phenomonal place - it is quite frankly our favourite restaurant in London. We had lunch here today. Highlights were my pumpkin, chestnut & pepper soup & the mincemeat & apple meringue pie.

Came here before our theatre show and boy were we happy about it! Make a reservation because they get pretty busy! Our pork jelly terrine wasn't very good, but the rest of our meal was fabulous!!! The grilled octopus salad was the best I've ever had!! Our Venison dish was incredible while the shared Meat and Mash pie was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! Very attentive service staff and within walking distance to queens theatre! I would most definitely recommend this place to anyone coming to London who wants a nice, romantic, meal!! The manager, can't remember her name, short dark brown hair... made our experience here wonderful!! It was our honeymoon and we came all the way from Texas!! Thank you so very much!!!
