Thai River Paddington in City of London

A nice and tidy pub, I would say, with lots of space and tables to sit at, but this was a Thursday afternoon. Half a dozen other patrons who appeared to all be regulars and a courteous lady behind the bar.. Appears to be the location of an Handlebar club with lots of pictures of moustachioed individuals on the walls. See photo. There is a Thai restaurant attached to the pub (in the basement) but you can also order to eat in the bar I tried the corn cakes (4) with sweet chilly sauce and Som tum which was spicy as requested. If your not use to the heat in this dish they will tone it down for you. The menu is quite extensive and if the food is as good as what I tried, it's well worth a visit to the restaurant alone. Highly recommended.

The Thai food was fantastic. Read the previous reviews and didn't expect much but it turned out to be amazing.

Possibly the best bar in London.On a recent business trip, myself and 2 colleagues stumbled across this pub while on route to another using unreliable directions.A flat roofed pub joined onto a block of flats would normally set of alarm bells if you were in Scotland in the 80s/90s but this little gem proved to be different.Quirky decorations and photos were attached the ceiling and walls. Staff were very friendly and there was a large selection of beer and other booze to choose from. We only had time for one pint but it was a good one.In addition - there was a Thai restaurant underneath which I hope to check out next time.

The most unsuspecting load to find a nice Thai restaurant, beneath a cozy English pub!The food here is surprisingly inexpensive. There's an impressive menu and the food does taste very good.The service is friendly and fast.I recommend for groups of up to ten as well as solo dining.

A real find. The interior is amazing and in contrast to the ordinariness of the outside. You could spend all night studying the walls and ceilings! A great ambience. I shall return.

The best Pad Thai I've had outside of Thailand! I was a bit reluctant when I saw the English pub at the entrance, but once I went down to the thai side of the restaurant I felt reassured. The staff is lovely and knowledgeable, and the food very authentic and delicious! Worth eating here, will definitely go again when am back to London!

I went along to The Heron last week following a chance meeting and recommendation. I was told it's a homely pub with pleasant staff and surprisingly good Thai food. I'm a massive fan of Thai food but rarely eat it outside of Thailand because I'm always a little disappointed. We started our meal with a course of salads and they were good, especially the pork larp, and so it carried on.A few beers, nice people and good Thai food. I think that sums it up

This is one of the most interesting pub interiors in London. It's packed full of Royal Fanily photos and memorabilia. Well worth a visit. Good Thai food too.

Visited this very recently with a friend.Sat in the lawn at the back, it had a nice vibe.Did not try their main course. Had 2 starters - the Chicken dumplings and Veg spring roll. Both were good.The service and hospitality was good.Would definitely visit again to try their main course.
