The Alfred Herring in City of London

I ate in this pub occasionally before but my last visit made me write this review. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious my meal was. The food was tasty and fresh and also at affordable prices. I even had an opportunity to meet a new kitchen manager, Judy. She was nice and very professional. Thank you for a great meal!

This is my neighborhood pub and I like it, the staff is also good and friendly. But some people who normally drink here are not very respectful to everyone, they are loud, rude and antihistamine.The quality could be better as always clean tables and fresh beer straight from the tap. (Something understandable when it is full and there is short staff. brexit!! )

Pre covid this used to be a lively place with a mixed crowd. Last night (a Saturday!) the place was quite empty, and the customers that were there were generally just the type you normally see quaffing pints at breakfast. They have made the lighting too bright and all of the staff now wear body cams. Grim!!!

It does the job for Palmers Green area... A great hub of a place for casual meetings with friends and family. Great Staff, good food, good selection of the best of all that Weatherspoons can offer. It does well.Needs a new carpet, it's been an age for the long-suffering one that's down presently.It's a good place to be for Breakfast in the mornings, quiet and warm.It ticks many boxes.

Always excellent service and lovely food here. Quiet and good value for money. I love it here. Had a tasty porridge and hot chocolate this time. Warmed me up. 😁

Nice environment, good attention, affordable prices and good quality-quantity-price relation. Beautiful local with this kind of British feeling and aura in the air. Cheap beers , what else?

The décor looks tired. Needs an update. Beer and wine prices excellent, which is why people probably go there. It can't be for the food, which I wouldn't even feed to my dog! My food was luke warm and arrived before my friend's. When I asked about my friend's food a surly, blonde female member of staff said we were not on the same ticket. No, but we were at the same table! Come on. Make an effort with your food and stop serving that slop!!

I was trying to kill some time as I had an appointment which I was early for so popped in for a glass of wine. The pub was very clean, spacious, cheap and cheerful, so went back for lunch. They have an app to order table service, which I initially had an issue with as I couldn't connect wirelessly. Eventually after going to the bar to order a main and drinks I managed to order a dessert and more drinks through the app, which as the pub got busier I felt it safer to do so.
