The Botanist in City of London

We hosted a wedding reception in the Soda Room and found it amazing. Khy was so helpful organising the event with us and our guests loved the space. We also got canapes (which were delicious) and the staff were amazing. Thank you so much everyone! We would definitely recommend the Botanist in general and especially events at the Soda Room.

After reading all the positive reviews of this venue, I am thinking that a cold, wet Saturday night at the end of November is maybe not the best time to visit, as I found it merely OK. Food was average and nothing special IMO. The place was very busy, so extremely difficult to get to the bar for a drink. There was no where to sit once we had finished our meal and were asked to move off the table for the next reservation. Based on my experience I would try somewhere else, however based on other reviews maybe I need to try it again sometime.

Staff was very Polite and had good humour. Very refreshing. The décor is lovely and the vibe inside is nice, a real good venue. However when it came to the food, I was disappointed with the Value for money, I must say.. regarding the £9.99 drink option, that you cannot complain with. Overall a lovely experience, 8/10.

Great service, the drinks were tasty too. A lot better service than I'd expected for the all you can drinks event, I think we managed to put away 7 or 8 drinks each in the 2 hours.Onto the bad.. so many bar flies at our table, this place needs a good clean! The food needs a lot of improvement. Mine was generally ok, I didn't like the arancini filling ( it's a weird duck flavoured paste with no texture) but wasn't terrible, the shakshuka was great though! Most of the others got burgers which had a mixed reception, some liked it a lot and others complained it was undercooked or would've rather got a McDonald's.I would go again but just for the drinks.

Whenever I’m London I always visit Botanist. Good music especially when a DJ is playing. While usually the staff are very helpful and polite, last night we experienced some very rude behavior. We ordered a bottle of wine (2 person) by the end of the bar which was not very crowded and a couple minutes later a blonde lady came asking us to leave as we are blocking people from ordering. My friend insisted that if we initially knew, we wouldn’t have ordered a bottle and we asked her if we could sit somewhere else but she was not really keen to help and had a very aggressive behavior. After we asked to see the manager she brought one of the security guys who understood the situation ( he was VERY VERY polite and willing to find a solution ) he told us we could stay where we are just a little bit more on the side and we really thanked him for his understanding. I would recommend to the management to keep an eye on this lady as her mentality shows she is willing to find problems instead of solutions and it can really ruin your place’s reputation.

Just had my Hen party here, and it was a fantastic place to start off the evening- tasty food, bottomless prosseco AND the DJ was on point! He threw the tunes way back! 🙌🏽 So much fun!

I suppose it’s 5 stars in all. With good design and decorations, quite nice staff and lovely menus! Unfortunately, it was an annoying mosquito been attracted by lemon slices on the table, and some unacceptable short-hairy stuff floating on my wine. The lady gave me a new wine as she might think I were taking advantage by telling her there’s something in the wine glass. After all it was a nice lunch next to train station!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEYQuite possibly the worst bottomless brunch I have had in a very long time. Service was appalling - tried to sit us on the tiniest table next to a table with so much luggage you could not even get to the table. The table we were then sat on was next to the loudest table we then had to move again. We could still hear them at the other end of the restaurant - having expressed how upset we were - they could not tell the other table to keep it down as they didn't want to upset them. But were happy for us to have the worst experience. The food was basic and not worth the money. Service was also slow and no one seemed to care. Its an expensive brunch and really not worth it. Please no one waste your money like I have.

Great for bottomless brunch. However they dont ask for your drink straight away. So you don't get the full 2 hours as they say. But lovely service from Justina. Food was great. Stew on small side but everything else was great.
