The Dickens Tavern in City of London

Overcharged me for my food by £7 and then argued that I was in the wrong for ten minutes until they realised their mistake, no apology. 15 minutes later staff came over to tell me that my food order was sold out, so could I swap my order? I re ordered half a chicken, when it turned up the fries were brown from the dirty oil, the chicken had been cooked in the deep fat frier and looked like it had been run over and the side salad was at least a week old and rancid. Honesy some of the worst food I have ever attempted to eat accompanied by incompetent sevice, franky appalling. Also the place was filthy throughout. Do not eat here.

Where’s Joanne ?! Bar is so slow 15 mins waiting for pint and girl with glasses standing at till doing nothing. May be doing stock take but theres a queue serve your customers dude !!

It's an ok pub for drinking but it truly had the worst mac & cheese I've ever had. It was served cold and tasted like it's been prepared hours before. Awful.

Cosy pub close to Paddington station. However, most main items on the food menu were sold out on a Sunday evening so we had to eat some small sides.

A good old Paddington pub. Greene King do a decent menu and Scampi and chips with mushy peas was delicious. Friendly staff and quick service (use app for table service)!

The place didn't look much on the outside, however, when we walked in, we were greeted by a nice member of staff who led us to the table at the far end of the pub. After the 3 Lions' game and every fan started leaving, staff cleaned the tables and went back to tell us that we can sit anywhere we fancy so that we were more comfortable. We stayed put as it wasn't too bad at all, but this was a really nice gesture from staff. We had a perfectly cooked fish and chips, and beef and cheese burger. We took our time enjoying the ambience of a traditional British pub. Yes, the place doesn't look glamorous when viewed from the outside but we can see that this place is a local favourite. I am not surprised, and if I live locally, I most likely frequent this pub. The food, the feel and friendliness of staff were highly commendable. Brilliant team they have here. Loved the ceiling art!

Very good food, poor service. Staff seemed apathetic. Service was one step above fast food. Draft service was broken when we were there. The chicken mushroom pie was tasty but a bit salty... the roast chicken was good

Really nice and helpful staff. Cozy seatings. The food was great and not to expensive. Was a bit load, so maybe not suitible for small children on an Saturday evening. But could work for friends and couples. Overall a really nice place to eat some great food and have an nice night out.
