Huge portion of battered fish, although stingy portions, chips and mushy peas wise. Dessert was also quite tiny piece of chocolate brownie and a tea spoonful of Vanilla ice cream. Nice staff and enviroment, though.

·

Very nice little pub, food was excellent too. Beer selection is very decent!

·

A nice place to go for a post work beer. It's just a shame the interior isn't as quirky as the exterior. Then again there's a good selection of beers on tap and so that's probably more important. :-)

·

Half the menu was not available due to lack of stock. Very bland food...asked for ketchup and was told they did not have any however the bar tenders where very helpful and friendly.

·

Such a lovely pub, great selection of ales and draught beers. Food is also brilliant I do recommend a steak and ale pie. Every time I go to the Hoops I feel very welcome, the staff really cares about and is very knowledgeable.

·

It was a nice old pub. Food was good. Looking on the website we thought there would be more choice. We enjoyed our meal.

·

Poor experience. Food took a long time to come. A lot of items on the menu were unavailable for order. Staff didn’t listen to special requirements for orders, including cheese being included in a burger despite requesting it without. We paid over £15 each for what was essentially an oven meal. No ketchup was available. We asked for some water for the 4 of us and got lectured/told off by the waitress when she only brought 1 glass and we subsequently asked for more.

·

Studied their menu on the train in to London. Reserved a table. All easy to do.good service. Friendly staff we really enjoyed the visit!

·

Visited on Christmas Eve. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great old pub, apparently one of the oldest if not the oldest in the bounds of the City Of London. First visit, will visit again.

·

Old, old character pub whose walls have twisted with age. Good service, reasonable prices. Spotlessly clean. Lots of history. Worth a stop if you are passing.
