The India Club Restaurant in City of London

Delicious delicious food. Love this place which is at the top of a hotel. Unique colonial vibes, nothing fancy just good food. Paneer dosa was delicious. Pani purri was crunch and the aubergine dish was to die for. Starters were samosas and onion bhajis. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. Service was incredibly accommodating and friendly. Prices were very cheap! Can’t wait to come back here!

A hidden gem in Central London. Yes it is a little shabby and it's canteen style but the food is delicious and the staff very efficient. We had lots of different foods and we shared it. Well worth a visit if you can find it . Also there is a little bar on the floor beneath which was very pleasant.Sorry I was to hungry to take a picture of the food.

Very accommodating and excellent service. It’s nice to have a great Indian in the centre of town as many can be pretty awful. Would highly recommend for groups, would’ve loved to try more of the menu but what we did order was fresh, well cooked and reasonably good value for money. I’ll definitely be back.

I really wanted to like it here because of the history, but the food was so bland. You walk in and everyone is white, so you can see who they're making food for. I think the chefs know how to cook but lower the flavour to suit the clientele.The drinks though are cheap and nice, and the bar in general I liked but a bit of a weird vibe

Got to be the best Indian restaurant in Central London. Check out set meal for £22. Fabulous

A big group of us pre-booked the set meal for £20 a head. Food came out quickly after we sat down and it was all okay. The onion bhajis were like supermarket ones you cook in an oven and the dahl and vegetable curry were both very watery. Like the food, the service was okay. Quite a fun interior in a shabby way. A solid three stars.

The layout reminds you of a mid 80s cafe. The tables, unmatching chairs, the serving trays all add to a charm based on memories from an era ago.Food is okay. But the atmosphere is excellent. Staff are friendly. Go there and enjoy the venue.

We had the set menu at £22. Very affordable. The main items on the menu that were interesting were the papadums, masala dosa, onion bhajis and roti prathas. All freshly cooked.I am afraid we weren't impressed with any of the curries served on the set menu. I read the reviews on here and my take on the curries were uninspiring and lacking vibrancy. I simply could not find a single dish that was rich in flavour and spices and I am not talking spicy as in heat. Perhaps it is for more western tastes during the 60s but I am pretty sure there are other Indian restaurants around that can easily surpass the dishes we got today. They seemed well cooked but struggle to make our taste buds come alive.

Authentic Indian! although the service was slow it was worth the wait. Restaurant on second floor with seperate toilets and bar lounge on first floor. 2nd visit 060721. At 2212hr given the bill without asking 1. If I would like another drink. 2. If I would like a dessert. 3. If I would like tea or coffee.

Great ambience, good variety of Indian food. The starters are excellent (if you were looking for spice, it ends with the chilli bhajias (v) and the Dosas (both veg and non veg) are excellent. The place still retains its look from over 60 years back and the minimalism is comforting. Service is efficient and polite. The taste is good but you can get better. Go for the ambience + good experience. And don’t miss visiting the first floor which has the Bar and is the actual Club area.
