A really cute pub, very clean and with a variety of beers. Our way to go in the neighborhood

We hired a private room for a family reunion in January for ten people. We were welcomed warmly, shown to a lovely room with a fire, served with Prosecco, and received excellent service throughout our dinner. The food was of a high standard, and the roasts were particularly generous.Highly recommended. Reasobably priced. Very well looked after by our hostess.

One of my favourites in this area. Nice local vibe, good beer selection. Staff were all a bit new when I last went but usually good.

Great customer service and a well made bloody Mary. What a Sunday funday! Fire and old pub. I am lucky to be able to enjoy. Very happy. What a great place to spend a grey day.

🚇 Lancaster Gate🍺 £6.10 Estrella❤️ The Mitre in Lancaster Gate was pub three on a crawl from Marble Arch to Queensway and a pub I have been eager to visit for some time..The pub stands proud as punch on a corner next to a picturesque mews. This pub is a real thing of beauty inside and out with its imposing victorian architecture and a sumptuous interior. The decor as you can imagine is traditional, ornate woodwork, stained glass and lots of brass fixtures and fittings complement this sizeable boozer. You can either relax on a comfy leather bench or gather around a large table with friends or just pull up a seat in front of the open fire and warm your cockles, you really feel that this is a great place to be. It was very relaxed in here on this Saturday afternoon and there was a broad mix of clientele in attendance. The food and drink prices were on the high side which wasn’t a surprise based on location, my pint was also the highest price of all pubs visited in the area that day. However, I was happy to pay a premium for such a great experience..The @mitrelancastergate is an exceptional pub and epitomises all the great things that London pubs have to offer. The architecture is stunning, the decor is elegant and all is wrapped up in a warm and welcoming environment. Why not treat yourself to a visit and see for yourself..📊 Information correct on visiting 13/11/21

We had our wedding day at The Mitre and I couldn't recommend it enough for weddings and events. We had 40 people for dinner in the upstairs room and 60 people for drinks after at Old Mary's. Rebecca helped us plan and co-ordinate every element and went above and beyond to help us with the planning, she ensured everything ran like clockwork and both venues looked beautiful. The food was delicious and all our guests raved about it. Rebecca also sourced a band for Old Mary's which everyone loved, she really did make the day 100% perfect for us.

I can't believe I've stayed in this area for over 10 years now when visiting London, and I've only JUST got the good sense to check out this classic English pub!We were staying in a hotel around the corner and decided to come in for a cozy Sunday roast. We've seen this pub crowded by locals before, so just to be safe (and exposing ourselves as the foreigners we are) we booked a table online. The online reso said the table would be indoors, but since we were taking multiple covid tests for our flight, we made a note to ask if they could accommodate one of their outside tables for the reso. Within hours, the manager emailed me confirmed she would be able to do so.I was very impressed and pleasantly surprised that the Mitre's roasts offered a combination of meats in one dish - not just one. You could have multiple types of beef, combinations of chicken, beef, and duck, or even a vegetarian option. Now maybe I haven't had enough sunday roasts to be a connoisseur, but I've never seen that before and definitely like the variety. The hostess was also very accommodating when taking our order, as one of the meats in one of our orders didn't have a full portion, so she was able to find a suitable substitute. If I had to describe this meal in one word, it would simply be yummy. The meat was tender, the horseradish was spicy (the way I like it), the vegetables not over or underdone, and the yorkshire pudding had me drooling.Everything a sunday roast should be in beautiful and quite neighborhood that's still close enough to the buzz of central London. Would recommend the Mitre to anyone who wants to play local and people watch real british folks.

A lovely and welcoming pub and venue in a great location with friendly and extremely attentive staff, great food, and amazing cocktails! We held our wedding reception at The Mitre on Sept 11th 2021 for a small group of 20 people. When we first visited to scope it out for booking the staff could not have been more welcoming. We were given a tour and they were immediately interested in the details of our day and how they could fulfil our vision.Having left our decorations and plans with them the night before, on the day of our wedding Rebecca, the manager, spent a great deal of time and effort setting up our room in such a lovely way, we were all so impressed.Erik and Vanessa were on hand the whole evening to serve custom cocktails the pub had designed for us and take care of our guests. Our guests absolutely raved over the food. It was phenomenal and the kitchen and staff were flexible to allow us to take a break between courses for a speech. We had a lovely bunch of flowers as a gift from Rebecca and the team and it was touches like this that made our day extra special.Thank you so much to Rebecca, Erik, Vanessa and everybody else for making our wedding day such a lovely experience at The Mitre. You were amazing!!
