The Soho Grill in City of London

Went to Temper on a Saturday for bottomless brunch. Sat at a nice round table and the service was quick and friendly, even asking when we wanted our food to come up over the 90 minute bottomless brunch period.The drinks are wine, lager or 3 cocktails and it's mix and match which is a definite positive. The cocktails are a little small so you do have to ask for refills quite a bit but the waiters did oblige.Food come on plates for 2 which was just enough for what we wanted. Overall, I would go back.

Venue: upstairs feels like a great vibe, downstairs is a bit more quiet, perhaps more intimate but it felt small.Service: The service was pretty good, staff explained how everything works promptly as it was our first visit. Throughout the night we had quick access to other staff as we were seated near their stand, and had a lot pop by our table to ask us whether we needed anything. The only downside was that it took a while to get a drinks menu later on in the night, but they were pretty busy as it was a Saturday night.Food: Nothing really disappointed in my opinion, but nothing really banged either. I think the best thing I had were the tacos, and I'm not really a taco myself. We had steak, truffle fries, sea bass, tacos, and Chicken-dukkah carnitas. My friends who are taco people and carnitas people weren't big fans of either dish, but I enjoyed it. I felt like the food was a bit pricey for the quality, but that's just London.Drinks: had the lychee marg, and my friends ordered the mezcal negroni. Similar thoughts, didn't disappoint but wasn't impressed either. Friends weren't keen though.Overall an okay visit, nothing bad, nothing stood out (though great service), probably wouldn't visit again for a long time.

My wife and I absolutely loved this place! The ribs and the beef skewers were amazing and melted in our mouths... Great cocktails too. Good atmosphere and excellent place for a date night.

Third time I came here to temper. Good ambience, good food, good service.For the main meats, it’s changed to minimum 500g per order. So in order to enjoy the different cuts, recommend to come in group of at least 4pax. Starters are quite refreshing and experience for the taste bud. Price point wise reasonable.P.S. if you’re into sci fi utopia novels, do check out the book on last picture which is available on Amazon. Highly recommended read while waiting for your food to come. 😁

Supported them during the lockdown and was unable to claim all of it back. Their customer service wouldn't even finish answering my questions since they don't understand or appreciate basic courtesies.From what I ate during lockdown, it was overrated and over blown. They wouldn't serve any expensive cuts during lockdown and they couldn't even put any efforts into their sides either.The cheeseburger tacos were a waste of time. The wings are basic. The aged beef skewers were dried out and flavourless and had to be prepared. The only part of the order that was satisfactory was potatoes.If your idea of pride is meat hanging outside the shop with nothing else on that floor taking away from it then why can't you just cook it properly? See those pictures... Every dish ends up looking like a scared corpse.Couldn't even serve it on fresh bread made in house? A frozen paratha and willingness to dial in your dishes with sauce to cover your mistakes was a joke. Basic seasoning doesn't seem to exist in their dictionary either.I gave you a chance and held off but when enquiring about redeeming the rest of the lockdown gift card recently at the restaurant ended up being an insulting experience.The staff at Soho were kind but it ended up feeling embarrassing when the manager "couldn't" make an enquiry about our vouchers and left us at the table completely abandoned. The next stinger from the receptionist came after coming back up after 10 mins and asking how my meal was even though I let her know about my predicament prior.So Temper from my experience is an analogue of the Tory government - promises with glitter, a strong media presence with nothing but yes men and willing to ask you for commitment and then refusing to deliver after the fact. Don't question them as you'll find out soon enough that they're only filled with hot air and will just air you even after simple polite questions. They will beg for your money when they need it and simply won't come with the goods when it all comes calling.Oh well. You can try harder next time but you're not worth it.

Solid choice for a good dinner, steak quality is amazing but personally the sides are a bit on the wild side.Nice atmosphere (slightly on the loud side), great music and good service.

Top, top food! Went for Sunday dinner with friends. Saw that it was recommended on a few different websites and can see why. It was excellent!I feel the roast dinner strikes the perfect balance between a home-cooked, pile-your-plate-high serving and the fanciness that you'd expect from eating out. There was plenty to go around, all elements were cooked to perfection although the beef was the star of the show. Tender, smokey and packed with flavour, it was the perfect choice for the meal.Roast potatoes were big and crispy, carrots were slightly soft and full of flavour and the Yorkshire puds were bigger than your fist. Not to mention the burnt ends gravy. We were all full to the brim afterwards and thoroughly satisfied.Roast dinners have the potential to divide the nation. Should you have Yorkshires only with beef? Should the veg be hard or soft? Whatever your views, I'd be astonished if anyone doesn't come away from here thinking that it was a brilliant dinner. I'll be making it a regular Sunday thing and would recommend you do the same.

Temper is just a really special place. Staff are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about everything they serve. The food is so delicious and interesting. Cocktails are beautiful and pair well with what you're eating. The atmosphere is lush too. I highly recommend it.

This restaurant is definitely a bit of me. Old school garage playing and one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. The lady who served us was super friendly and very helpful with recommendations on the menu. We had a great view of the steaks being cooked and deserts being made. Lovely starters and I think you could share one steak between 2 if you have a few starters first. Would def go back again maybe for a special occasion.

If you’re looking for a quiet dinner, this won’t be the place for you, the music did seem a bit too loud. Aside from that the ambience was quite nice and the booth we were given for our party of 5 was very roomy.The service was varied, our small plates came quicker than our drinks!The pork rib and tacos were the stand-out dishes but overall a bit pricey.
