Lovely location, smack in the middle of the London tourist trail. But there's room for improvement - food is average and service is disappointing. Can't see how it can encourage customers to the eatery and drive footfall and sales.

Quite place during lunch - food was ok, maybe little salty and slightly pricy for what it is.

We had the special menu (very restricted choice) and for the price the food was outstanding and the location is great. Service was attentive without being in your face and we spent the whole evening there having a really good time. We will go again soon.

Gorgeous decor and location.Kind and charming service.Very dry Caesar salad, vinagar anchovies and red eggs instead of unctuous dressing, and silly plate, struggled to eat it.( Just rethink that recipe please, all show, no taste.) Good wine, very slow to come. Still, a fabulous place between 2 top museums!

Food edible, service was OK... But the menu had sirloin and tbone (I think)steak, beef and lamb, all we're not available which left the lamb for two stewed for several hours... Didn't like it. The waiters didn't know what was available and didn't know the detail of the menu. If you're after a really nice experience... I wouldn't risk it.

Set menu food was OK. But nothing special. Two mouthfuls of fish and an oversized portion of mash swamped by dill was very diappointing. Sticky toffee pudding could easily have been shop bought. Drinks over priced. Luckily it wasn't busy so not too noisy but badly designed and would be awfully loud if full. Staff inexperienced and untrained. Don't bother going.

Simple, elegant dining room with great service. I had onion soup followed by braised beef cheek and my partner had the chicken liver parfait and steak, all of which were delicious. From the start the maître d was very professional, efficient and friendly (we'd actually changed our reservation last minute). One of the waitresses seemed new and spilled some of the wine but was apologetic and quite endearing. The atmosphere was relaxed and with pretty much all of the tables full there was a nice buzz. Would happily return and recommend to others.

An elegant setting, overlooking the river, serving generous portions of fresh, locally sourced and seasonal dishes. Can highly recommend the crab cakes to start with a perfect balance of spice, followed by a fish pie with a herby crust making a welcome change from the conventional layer of mashed potato. Sampled some of my friend's pâté - there was ample - absolutely delicious. Relaxed atmosphere with a sophisticated edge complemented by friendly and efficient staff. I understand the weekend brunch offering is delightful too. Definitely worth a visit.

This could be a spectacular place to dine. The terrace, overlooking Embankment gardens and the Thames, is elegant Georgian bliss. The food, a great blend of traditional and modern British and European cuisine, is very promising on paper - but both times I have eaten here, the veneer of a high class dining experience has slipped to reveal a lack of quality staff training and poor attention to detail.Service is usually a little on the slow side, though when you are enjoying a drink in the sunshine, this hardly matters. It's not a budget option by any means - mains being almost £20 a head on average before drinks or a dessert. My cheeky recommendation is to buy a pasty from Greggs, sit on a quiet table on the terrace, and enjoy a bargain lunch in beautiful surroundings. Save a bit of cash, and enjoy this place's best feature - the view!

I took my Mother here for her birthday and I have to say I had mixed feelings about our experience. Firstly the food was very nice, good quality - unfortunately my Mums fish (green) pie was not cooked through properly so she had to wait another 5 minutes before we could all eat together (and they cooked another). The service was mixed too - I was able to ask for a "birthday plate" which had a birthday message written in chocolate and a scoop of homemade coffee ice cream - that was nice. A few times I found my glass empty and when I tried to pour my own the waiters came over and took over - bit strange. Got charged for an extra coffee that we didn't order too.Generally a nice experience but probably won't return
