As a Michelin starred fine dining establishment with a lot of history, the food is only a part of the experience. In terms of ambiance and decor it's quite tastefully done, and you get a sense for how much history the restaurant has.As for the food, it's definitely good, but I was expecting just a little more considering the price and prestige. As some others have mentioned, I was also a little disappointed that there's a dress code mentioned on the website but not particularly enforced.

food is just a small fraction of the dining experience at veeraswamy. the food was delicious, flavour in every bite but the portions were small for the price. my main problem with the restaurant was that i gave my coat to be put in the cloakroom but when i received it back there were marks all over the arm as if it had been dropped on a dirty floor. (photo below) highly disappointed as this ruined my whole experience. lastly we had a few waiters but one of the ones that came to clean our table made so much noise and dropped food off the plate without noticing. unprofessional for a place with so much reputation. i was also shocked to see very few people following the dress code on their website - some people were in hoodies and sports shoes?

The position is convenient and the environment is romantic. The waiter was very professional and helpful when providing suggestions on food, and made it just enough for four. This lamb is really tender and tasty, but with a crispy skin.

By far the best Indian food you will ever have. I can not fault anything. Great venue, Great service and Great food!!!

Amazing cosy atmosphere, delicious Indian food, super friendly and helpful staff, great place for special occasion. We will definitely return.

Great place! Very delicious food!Dish that stands out in my opinion is patiala shahi raan - lamb shank wrapped in a thin flatbread and cooked for 6 hours accompanied with some curry on the side. Probably one of the best lamb dishes I’ve ever tried, very succulent and soft, good combination of spices. Also, really liked chicken momos, which was some kind of Indian dumplings.Lamb chops were cooked perfectly, though I think proper knife for steaks/meat should be served for them, otherwise its really hard to cut them.Raita was a bit too sweet in my opinion…Service was good and very attentive, though I think our waitress was a novice and made some mistakes a few times, didn’t have info on some dishes, which is ok in general, but not what I expected from a Michelin starred restaurant.Overall very good experience, would definitely come back!

The best Indian restaurant in London. I had a lunch with my wife and we ordered Chicken Beryani and Chicken Makhani. The food was very tasty and delicious. The service was perfect and the staff at the restaurant were very friendly.

An exquisite dining experience. The ambience- interior design, decor and music- is all around very pleasant and definitely high-end, so not suitable for young children. The food is delicious and beautifully presented and the service impeccable! Despite the high price, I would definitely recommend for a special occasion, as London has a wide range of amazing Indian to offer.

Lovely setting, gorgeous food! I had to take a star off because the website says that all lamb and chicken is halal, but when I asked the waiter I was told that the only lamb suitable was the seekh kebabs and the chops.

The food was absolutely amazing and flavourful. The atmosphere was great and staff was quite helpful. The location is very convenient. Although the price was a little higher it was completely worth it. The was a range of food choices. The only problem was that the portions were quite big so no one at the table finished their meal completely. Suitable for older children and vegetarians.
