Great place for a drink or bite to eat, staff pleasant and efficient, food good

Lovely cafe and location, beautiful coffee and cake, ideal before travelling on the canal.

Great coffee, polite service, picturesque setting, with ducks and geese on hand! What more could you want?

Completely raw mushrooms and no sausage in a £13 full English breakfast. Can't make tea to save their life, and customers not allowed to use their toilet. We were directed to a public toilet 1 mile's walk away which was shut. Bottled drinks weren't served in glasses. They had run out of many basic menu items, such as bread.

Well… let’s start with the fact that the location is nice. Great place, especially during sunny days. The food is the “problem” here: cakes are pretty much ok, but the coffee definitely needs some improvements.

I went there last Sunday for brunch , food was horrible and not even hot, had full vegetarian breakfast for £12!!! cappuccino is over priced (£3.20), cyclist and walkers were passing less than a metre away from the table . This place has nothing special

Stopped for 2x coffee's and cake. Both good.Location is the main draw here. Canalside narrow boat with tables outside and in. Inside as spacious as possible with a narrow boat, we sat in the stern which had views across the basin and the canal path. Coffee and cake both good, no queues at 10.30 on a September Sunday and good service.You will read other reviews which say high prices, poor service and food quality. Not my experience but I guess service depends on the person on the day and their training and supervisor.

I hate leaving bad reviews so apologies in advance but this place disappointed me just too much. Apart from the really high prices, the food is really unacceptable with deeply butter soaked white bread and the cheapest quality food I have tasted in a long time at a cafe. And your standard pantry-looking mug and cutlery too… I love the idea of a boat cafe, but the quality of food here was truly terrible. Granted, maybe the idea was to have a ‘greasy spoon’ style cafe but I still think a little less bitter and a bit nicer ingredients would make all the difference

We only stopped for coffee, but it was a good coffee and much enjoyed. We sat inside because it was raining. Its very peaceful there which makes it the ideal place for a pit stop.
