The mixed reviews sort of make sense but we loved it. Don’t go in there expecting super attentive service or gourmet food but you get an authentic experience - loads of great dishes, pretty good prices, and a bustling vibe. Definitely will be back! Cash only though

The 5 stars is for the price and deliciousness of food, honestly it can't be beat. However please don't come here expecting good service or manners. I'm used to it but if you're expecting fine dining or silver service then go elsewhere however if you're happy to potentially share a table and not have chatty staff, they can be blunt at times then it's worth it because the food is SOOOOOOO good, great portions and very good price especially for Central London.

The duck was utterly disgusting , and the picture on the menu didn’t say wether it was cold or hot which they need to change so that customers know it will be cold rather than finding it on the menu. Before customers come in they should tell them that it’s cash only not when they have there food in front of him. But overall , the other food that was ordered was delicious but I would never come back here at all

So. I was recommended this place by a work colleague. I was told to order the bbq pork noodle soup as this is something of a speciality there apparently. First thing you notice that this place is full of Chinese locals. Always a good sign when you’re in china town. There appears two options, upstairs and downstairs. I got the impression that on busy days, downstairs is for locals, however we visited On a quiet day so downstairs it was. We started off with being presented with some tea. No milk or strong builders tea here. This is Chinese tea which I can describe as weak hot tea served in small little white pots. We ordered a side of egg fried rice which arrived quickly. The decor is a little tired and the bowls had chips in the side and look like they’ve hit the dishwasher one too many times, but you come this place for the food not the bowls. This rice was amazing, quite frankly the best I’ve ever had. Loads of flavour. The bbq pork noodle soup was a good size, good quantities served here. These two dishes were more than enough and was just over a tenner in price. After these dishes the tea is ideal to cleanse the pallet. Service was swift but generally friendly. Forget about the decor and the decoration, you come to this place for quality Chinese food. Traditional throughout. Well worth a stop off visit for a lunch or quick snack. Will definitely be one for my list for a drop off when in London again. One thing to remember though it’s CASH ONLY.

Great value. You do not go there for a smile but the food is great and good valueService/waiters are quite direct/no patience and can sound rude at times;cash payment only;however, the food is great, reliable, well cooked, fast service and it is really great value. I can recommend

Amazon food great value for money so lucky so get a seating cause it really got busy. Got told off as we started ordering telling the lady the numbers of the menu she shouts saying "No number. You tell me the food" lolWell known for them to be rude all part of the experience. Visited few years ago as recommended by a friend. Definitely would go back and would recommend.

Good food. Really generous helpings. Free green tea. Melamine plates! Cash only.Young men give usual relatively sullen service, alas, for which the place was famed in the 80s/90s. The more mature staff are much more friendly...The place is always to be commended as an 'experience'!

Food is Excellent, service is much better and no sharing tables anymore.Can't miss or go wrong with chicken is Sweetcorn Soup, Wonton Noodle Soup, Kingdo Spare Ribs & Triple Meat on Hot Rice.Plain Friend noodles is a must.Chilly Oil is 👌Green Tea is complimentary as much as you want.They just need ventilation, no fans or air conditioning.

lovely wong kei ❤️ from my childhood coming here after chinese school on sundays ❤️I usually go for, beef brisket with rice noodles in soup, freddie had beef brisket with egg noodles in soup, and we shared some wontons ❤️ if you are in a hurry go for noodle soups because they cook them on the ground floor and the masters are so quick at dishing it up —heaven for £6.90for dinner~ sweet and sour chicken on rice (my new obsession from last year I never ate this dish growing up but i love it so much now) and freddie had stuffed pepper (w minced prawn), bean curd and stuffed aubergine in black bean sauce on boiled rice 🍚 no.165other things to try:roast duck with ho fun in soup‘hot pot’ (which is clay pot) wind dried sausage on rice (with salt egg and salted fish if they have it)dry fried beef ho funroast duck/ any of the barbecue meats on ricewonton noodle soupmorning glory with preserved bean curd (so special and delicious)🍚lovely hakka dishes and cantonese dishes ❤️ i think the sliced fish with bean curd on rice sounds good and the salted egg and sliced pork vegetable soup for 2 will be amazingmonks vegetables always yumpork chopseel with bitter melon… very headsy choice❤️love you wong kei thank you for (mostly) always letting me sit on the ground floor also, look at the line outside ! ❤️

Pretty garbage food. Not even cheap and service was bad not sure why there are so many people who go here to try. Everything tasted so bad. Very not recommended and would never step back again. Service bad, place was not clean and everything was just really bad. Not even recommended to try not worth your time.
