Chi Oriental Restaurant in Croydon

I’m so fussy with food but I was starving and wanted something local. We have been looking for a Chinese takeaway for ages and the foods always been ok/average. So we tried Chi Oriental last weekend for the first time, the food came up to £50 so we had a choice of dishes. The food I can say is restaurant standard as a takeaway. We enjoyed the crispy duck, crispy shredded beef, prawns and a selection of rice and noodles. Also to add, the lady I spoke to on the phone was so pleasant and welcoming , the gentleman who delivered our food was so kind also, gentle speaking . They have the food and the customer service I like to see when I’m spending my money .

Ordered food on new years eve. Just eat app said it would be ready for collection at 7:20. Clearly nobody had cared to update the app as I then sat in the restaurant with a load of other irritated customers for an hour waiting for my food. Didn't even get a drink or discount for my 50 minute wait listening to the front of house awkwardly argue with various uber drivers. Luckily I managed to get a refund on it. Food 9/10 everything else solid 0.

Fantastic Chinese restaurant. Food is first class. Ive always based a Chinese on thier hot and sour soup and theres is one of the best. (The salt n pepper soare ribs are worth a shout also! Enjoy)

We’ve ordered our last take away from this place following a dreadful meal a few weeks ago. Not only did they forget to pack a key dish (this was the second time this has happened), the duck was shredded too finely and was dry and tasteless. Also, they must’ve been short of spring onions because there was barely enough to fill the pancakes. Sorry to say even the sides we had were poor quality, so we will definitely not use them again. They’ve gone downhill, so I hope this review encourages them to up their game and stop cutting corners. As regular customers, we feel taken for granted

Have used this restaurant for nany years.Sadly no more ,3 hours for a delivery 6.15 order placed food arrived at 9.15 .we are 3 miles away.5 calls to chase order ,apparently drivers car broke down.strangely when he turned up he knew nothing about it !!They never rang to explain delay I had to chase them.Food is always good, sadly like many businesses now it appears ££ before customer service.

I have ordered from here for many years and the quality of the food has been very good, but I ordered food today and the quality was very bad. I am convinced that it is under new management. I will not be ordering again, shame.

Excellent!We had the most delicious dumplings, followed by aubergine stuffed with prawn, and King Po chicken - chicken was good but the aubergine was sublime.Beer was limited in choice but fair price, and the two gents working were charming and efficient.I've lived round here for 3 years and now wondering how I had never before made it to eat at Chi Oriental. Really glad that I eventually made it, and now looking forward to working through the menu.

Visted here on date night. Nice looking restaurant with great decor. Crackers added to the table to start which is nice. The food came out very quick. We ordered steamed rice and stir fry king prawns with vegetables and chicken in peanut sause. The rice was quite hard and could have been cooked better and the stir fry prawns with vegetables was very blan and had no flavour. The peanut chicken had good flavour though and the wine we ordered was nice. Overall good night. Nice restaurant, big and spaceous inside. Good service. I would visit again but order something different.

Very good food and nice staff that brought me a new bowl of rice without any issue when I said it was really dry. I would highly recommend the prawn stuffed aubergine, one of the best veg dishes I’ve ever had.

The food was not bad, the service was excellent but the price was high, but higher than the food deserved. To be fair, we enjoyed the food, it just wasn't worth the price. Absolutely can't fault staff though, really nice and friendly.
