The staff were polite. However it was noisy when I went around 6pm. I asked to be moved but was told the table was reserved - there was no sign it was reserved & only after I asked did one of the staff put a sign to say it was "reserved". The door to the garden was closed as it was very cold - but then patrons & staff kept keeping it open. I asked for the door to be closed but they did not close it. So my friend & myself decided to go somewhere else.

Great music pub, food and ales excellent. Giving young and new and established bands a forum to play.

The very nicest people to have run the pub in recent years, always polite and interested in keeping you happy.Beer is well kept and the girl who served me last time expertly poured a pint of Guinness.Excellent outdoor seating, a fair amount of which is heated. Parking out back is available.Disabled access is very good also. Can't comment on the food but have been told it's very good.Table service first class and you can pay when you order.I've been drinking here since I was a lad and it's still my favourite place to drink in Purley!

Always lively. It's lost its familiar felt since lockdown and feels a bit more regimental. Good music, local and busy.sometimes to busy.....

Over priced for drinks and, car park is also a bump as you have to pay to stay.. it's a pub don't make sense. Average crackheads and local scum from Croydon is what you will be presented with.

The food here is not that good at all. I tried the meat platter and it was cold. All of the meat was precooked and tasted strange. Definitely not freshly cooked especially if it's ordered and comes to the table in under 10 mins. The atmosphere is still the same drab, dirty, and badly organised seating. They need to pruce it up a bit more and make the outside seating more comfortable. Remove the Indian menu and start serving some real classics. The Indian food is abysmal.
