Kingfish bar in Croydon

Delicious and fresh fish and chips. Just like we like it, not too oily and dry.

Always been nice and fresh when I've been in there, but I've had better hence the -1 star.

I would say this is the best fish and chip shop in the CR2/CR3 area. Fish always freshly fried and really good chips.

Kings Fish and Chip shop now has remedied the error of overcharge and was so Appologetic but I can’t Fault the Cod and Chips one of the Best IHave had.

Fantastic tasty ENORMOUS servings - we had one small F+C each and they were so big that we could have shared one and been full!

First time ordering from here via Deliveroo and we were so disappointed. Chips were almost white - like they had barely been cooked - and were soft and slimey. The mushy peas swam around the plate and, probably more about their comms with Deliveroo, but between leaving the chip shop and arriving was almost half an hour for a 7 minute journey (and the bag was all ripped up so not sure if the guy dropped them and had to rush back or something to be honest!). Regret giving the restaurant a tip now 😕

We’ve ordered from here a few times as they deliver and it is one of the few places locally that does not use lard or beer batter. However, every single time we are left disappointed - stale chips, lack lustre fish; the batter usually my favourite bit but this just doesn’t do the job! I won’t say it is bad per se, just not good. Portion sizes are very generous. Delivery time decent!Also one time when we went in to order it was very annoying that the owner tried to pressure us to drive to the nearest cash point so we can pay in cash, it’s one thing if a cash machine is next door but to get grumpy because we won’t drive somewhere when you take card payment!?!? When we declined the gentleman serving us was very grumpy and short with us.

Absolutely terrible chips. Hard and dry. Defo been sat there for hours. Food from here SO inconsistent. Much better chippies offering much better service and quality of food in the area.

Drive past here every day since moving into the area. Thought I would give it a try. And did not regret it. Ordered rock and chips.The fish was cooked to order and was very fresh. And chips also were fresh and hot. I have no hesitation in saying it has been the best rock and chips I have had. Ever. Thank you so much. Will return as this will now be my local chips

Having called in this place on the way home I was kept waiting for several minutes before two blokes eventually emerged from the back. Neither of them gave the impression that they particularly wanted to serve me. Having reluctantly taken my order I was kept waiting again, this time about 20 minutes, while the fish and chips were cooked. The quality of food left a lot to be desired. It seemed undercooked and saturated in cooking oil. Sorry, won't be using this place again.
