Monkeys in Croydon

The best Indian takeaway and super generous portions - very confused by the reviews. The wait is often long, however it tells you this on Deliveroo or Uber eats before you order and we just make sure we order earlier so it arrives when we’re hungry. The food is worth the wait and we live about as far as they’ll likely deliver and it still arrives piping hot and fresh.

We have had Monekys 2 weekends in a row now (naughty) and it has been SOOOOOO delicious. Loads of scrumptious veggie options, great portion sizes, swift delivery and generally such a treat. We live locally and are delighted to have found this place. Thanks Monkeys xx

We got a prawn curry with no prawns and a veg dish that was sooooo bland it tasted of nothing just a large piece of broccoli, a semi hard onion and a large piece of cauliflower with peppers it was the worst takeaway I have ever received

TERRIBLE & NOT AUTHENTIC!!I am asian and let me tell you this is the worst asian food i have had in many years! The Paneer is so sweet and nothing like what it is meant to taste like & the the sauces are so bland. I wish i saw the google reviews before ordering!

STOP!! Like others I ordered because Deliveroo rated it 4.8. This is the worst Indian takeaway I have ever eaten, in fact it was so bad I threw it away and made a sandwich. Poppadum's were soft like yesterdays! Mixed Veg starter looked a mess, never seen anything like it, not cooked by a proper chef, icing on the cake was I found a prawn in my food when I never ordered any fish!! Lucky I don't have a shell fish allergy (see spoon). This place needs to be reported or shut down! Deliveroo also do not trust now! Order was also missing full order. Free baby potatoes in curry sauce was bland, not authentic. AVOID LIKE THE PLAUGE!!!!!

I was a bit worried having placed an order on Deliveroo based on the high-rating and then reading these comments, but I really enjoyed my meal. It arrived in good time (approx. 35 minutes after placing the order), everything was provided, including free poppadoms, and the food was really tasty. The chicken jalfrezi had a nice kick to it. I would order from Monkeys again.

AVOID. Never written a bad review before but this was absolutely dire. Ordered at 7pm with ETA of 7:45. Called at 8 when it hadn't arrived and was told the rider had "just left" and would be 10-15 minutes. Called again at 8:30 and was again told they'd "just left" and would be 10 mins. Food finally arrived at 9, missing a drink we ordered, and was such bad quality - the Rogan Josh had no spice in it and tasted like a tomato pasta sauce, the butter chicken was bland and watery, the bhajis overcooked, and spinach had no flavour. No idea how it's got over 4.5 stars on deliveroo - I think they must all be fake reviews.

I was very much looking forward to having an Indian take away as I've not had one in a while. I went onto Deliveroo and picked Monkys because it had really good ratings 4.9 ⭐ but compared to the Google reviews I feel mislead! There were issues with the order from start to finish, I waited over an hour because there was poor communication between the resturant, driver and Deliveroo when trying to contact me but all my details were correct and I actually telephoned the resturant several times but they hung up on me. The resturant has two numbers so please be aware. They only advertise one of the numbers on deliveroo. Once I finally received the food I took the liberty of contacting the resturant to tell them that's its arrived but I was disgruntled and took more time explaining the misshap. The person who spoke with me did say and suggest they would make a partial refund but I said "it's up to you". After the call I went to eat and after all of the fiasco of contacting deliveroo and the resturant the food was a complete let down. The curry was so oily that I could not consume it and instead I might consider opening a refinery lol and the mixed grill was a hit and miss too, some of the meat was overcooked and dry and other bits of meat suxh as the the lamb chop still had a pulse. Luckily deliveroo has now taken on bored my feed back. I wish the resturant every success but I wont be going back anytime soon. I am happy to post pictures but can't seem to do this 😕

AVOID!!!!!!’ This used to be one of my favourite takeaways for the past years but it is awful now. Food takes 90min to 2h without the ability to even talk to them because not matter how many times you call they just do not answer the phone. So you are left to either wait and end up eating at 11pm like I did or cancel and order from someone else and still eat very late because they have become extremely inefficient and do not care.Sad to see how they had a great service and is now the worse.AVOID!!!!!

I’m not sure this restaurant even exists? Placed an order through Uber Eats at 19:20, estimated delivery 20:00-20:20. Nothing shows up. No way to contact a delivery driver. The restaurant phone either rings out or is engaged. Do not order from here.
