The George in Croydon

I'm not sure what to say, as this is the chain restaurant quality of food is on par with any other wetherspoon, so is the decor and atmosphere. I've never witnessed any misbehaviour, but there is plenty of security there in case it ever happened. I'm a little disappointed with how busy it is most times, it's really hard to find a table to sit at. If you are a party of few, pop in maybe you will get lucky, but most likely you will have wonder elsewhere.

Been at this place for an early morning breakfast - it was quiet and not busy at all. Food is decent, coffee refill is a plus. Would love to see the place in the late evening, willd efinitely come back for a pint or two!

I user to go to this pub quite a lot before I went clubbing in Croydon and really loved it.Today I ordered some food and drink via their app and was surprised just how quick I got served. Great going you guys and gals.I also know one of the staff who does work there as I used to work with them in one of my previous jobs.

Went to The George on Saturday night about 18.00, was very busy but we managed to find a table, was quite loud, so if you're looking for something quiet and cosy this won't be for you, but we came here after trying the slug and lettuce round the corner, that was a dump, but that's not for this review!Ordered food via app, thought it might take a while as it was so busy but drinks arrived in 5 minutes and food 5 or so minutes after.Food was hot and tasty, and exactly what we ordered but could of done with a few more chips on my plate.Staff were friendly and efficient.Overall a very good experience, well done to all at The George.

Only good thing was the fast service, but I would rather wait an extra 10 minutes than have to eat there again!The fish was so overcooked, I nearly broke a tooth on the batter and the steak was so undercooked I was surprised it didn't get up and trot off the plate. We decided on a Spoons as we've always been happy with the franchise but this is one we will not be back to.

Friendy staff. not wearing face masks, so we all are safe now no more covid-19!!

This is a very busy place , and quite roomy ,but very narrow ,so you feel very inclosed , it makes you feel slightly uncomfortable and clostrophobic . I hear alot have people have made quite legitimate complaints.about the service and food , also rude staff . So I will have to return to give it a fare reveiw.Toilets are small and a little unpleasant . It does need dire redecoration.i will have to return at some point in time to do a decent post. We'll i returned on sat 15th of Jan no surprise , one off the staff was very rude , I may have been a bit tipsy and should not of taken my anti depressants , but I did not deserve that vile treatment , appears they don't take kindly to new clientel . It will not be missed. Avoid if you where a suit or are not into horse racing.

Truly amazing place to go out. Food is beyond delicious and great variety of drinks. Literally everything you want for a night out. Staff is friendly and fast, super nice and so are the people at thr entrance. Really great experience. I will be coming back for sure...

Best of the 3 Wetherspoons in Croydon... diverse crowd of all ages.. never seen any trouble in here... good number of tables... obviously, food is standard Wetherspoons... but good range of real ales, regularly changed too... my go to for a cheeky cheap pint in Croydon 🍻

I had a jacket potato and chilli and there was literally only about a tablespoon of chilli. There was more salad than anything else in the plate. Disappointing meal.
