The Oval Tavern in Croydon

Terrific Easter Sunday lunch today. Party of 5 eating varying meals all of which we loved. Great atmosphere and live jazz. It is my birthday. I even had cake and a candle and a chorus of Happy Birthday. Terrific friendly, efficient staff. Thank you all for today.

Such a great pub, a real rare gem in Croydon! It has a fantastic atmosphere, the staff are wonderful, really informal, friendly and relaxed - Great beers and food. Like a good pub should be! it has a lovely rustic interior and It has a great garden with lots of space. There is often live music and all in all it makes for a great night out! The best in Croydon by far!

Went for Sunday dinner. Great choice selection and the food was delicious, restored my faith in roast dinners. Only negative was that our table was right in front of the band which made it difficult to talk, absolutely not a complaint though as the place was busy which was wonderful to see given the last two years. Recommended for sure 😊

Just behind East Croydon station on the "other side of the tracks" the Oval Tavern is a live music pub, with Sunday lunchtime jazz, evening gigs, good food, great atmosphere. Most events are free to enter. Call ahead and book a table on popular nights. Many happy evenings here discovering the best music I'd never heard of. My personal favourites are Justin and the Argonauts, the Old Avengers and the Sunday jazz. Seldom disappointed. Always good fun.Beck today after the lock down, still good

Great service, happy smiling bar staff. Very busy. They have a awesome garden didn't use it much for to cold for that. Skyline has changed since I was last here.

I fun night to be had here! When we went, a drag act was in full song. Lots of fun.They only take cards.Friendly bar staff and a good selection of beers and spirits.The outside area could do with some heaters.

A real find, lovely pub with friendly and helpful staff. Nice garden at the back which should be really nice in the summer. I'll definitely come back here.

As if fantastic beer wasn't enough (large selection of well kept draught real ale) this great venue has wonderfully friendly staff, hearty, tasty, home-cooked food (in generous portions!) and it regularly books in truly top notch musical acts.One of my favourite pubs, almost makes me wish I lived in Croydon!

Absolutely delicious dinner. Well presented and so tasty. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Little gem!
