Toby Carvery in Croydon

My first time here, normally go to the Mitcham or East Ewell. Waitress was helpful. Had no Chicken burger for kids. I opted for the Roast. As table was booked for 6pm, I observed that the Lamb was nearly finished, I managed to get a small slice so got Beef .

Impulsive decision to have dinner here on Sunday. A very warm and friendly greeting. Great service and generous helpings of sliced meats. We had lamb and beef, so good really tasty sides, Mac cheese and cheesy potatoes were delicious. No room for deserts but will be going back very soon.

Took advantage of the 40% offer yesterday. Service, food and choice up to its usual 'good value for money' standard, although I found all the food to be on the tepid side, rather than hot! That was the only minus.I have to say that Abdul - one of the carvers - was really nice and customer friendly (even if he didn't carve me an extra slice) ;) I hope his bosses appreciate him.

Great management. I normally go to the restaurant with my family on Sundays although last Sunday I ordered to my home. Some items was missing and the manager responded and resolved the issue very quickly and professionally.Shout out to the manager :)

Booked table for 5 at 17:00 4 adults and 1 child for a birthday meal 2 adults and child went up first got there meal came back to the table then myself and my partner went to get our meal was told that they was bringing new food out could we wait a few minutes 5 minutes later was asked if we could sit down as they needed a few more minutes to get new food out was told that they would let us know when it was ready 17:40 still was waiting for them to let us know when we could go up. 17:50 saw that there was other people getting food so we went up to get ours bumped in to the lady that told us she would let us know when to go up to get our food and said why did you not tell us we could go and get our food she just walked off time myself and my partner got our food it was 18:05. Ruined my birthday as we came out as a family to have a meal together time I got my food both Mt daughters and grandson had eaten there's and had to wait over a hour till myself and my partner had finished our meal then to make things worse asked if we could order dessert different waitress took our order came back 5 minutes later to inform us they had run out of the desserts we had ordered.Never again will I go to the Toby at South Croydon.

Food was delicious, staff were friendly and helpful but not enough of them. Had to get our own drinks cause of the wait and walked out with no dessert after waiting 15 minutes to try and order. If you dont mind a wait go here, if you want fast service go Macdonald's. In my opinion dinner was worth the wait👍

The staff are absolutely run off there feet they don’t stop running around!! I went there the other day .. Got seated then went up to get my dinner.. only to see that there was only turkey available!! Beef was going to be another hour to be ready!! No pork, gammon or lamb available either!! Surely as a carvery restaurant meat should be cooked and ready go !! It’s my local Toby and I’ve eaten here for many years!! Since they have started Uber eats and delivery the customers in the restaurant are now second to those ordering online which is really disappointing!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 To all the staff that work there and have to deal with the disgruntled customers!! Head office sort it !!!

Warm welcome but then slow service, wait for the starters, had to chase up twice as we thought we had been forgotten about. Then the wait at the carvery for anyone to serve us was quite long, I had to chase up a waitress to shout the kitchen. Then there was no crackling. Meal was ok, not great the veg was quite tired. Then I had awful tummy about 1am. The décor of the place is pretty run down too. Light out in the toilet cubicle.

The food was nice , the staff were very friendly and helpful as we had 2x tables together for a birthday . The manager who dealt with the cake and another girl on duty who looked like she was working under stress but was very helpful also . Would like to thank the staff that day for their service and consistently asking if everything was ok .

Great service, very quiet - nice place to catch up with people. Food was your average roast with a couple of other options (although it was a bit bland for my liking), good variety and vegetarian options available. Excellent value for money and the desserts were lovely!
