Unfortunately, the favourable reviews did not match our experience of dining here. If the place is busy don’t expect your food to arrive promptly on our last visit here was exactly 75 minutes between our order being placed and any food appearing, priority was clearly given to take away orders and not those like us who were dining in. Also, any resemblance between what you ordered and what eventually appeared (or not appeared) was completely coincidental, it was if the waiter just hadn’t taken any notice of our order. Trying to simply order a drink was a joke we had to ask at least three times before anything appeared.Another area of concern was if you have any special dietary requirements. My wife and I are both vegan and two other members of our party were vegetarian. Rather than being treated sympathetically you are made to feel that you are being a nuisance if you question what is suitable (their menu gives no indication as to what is suitable for either vegetarians or vegans). This also typified the general level of service which at the best was indifferent at the worse really poor.

The employees were lovely, but the food was not that great

A friend ordered this and I was pleasantly surprised. It was a great meal. Give them a try you will be happy 👌 and Peter Crouch eats there! There is no better endorsement.

You have to save some naan to wipe the plates at the end! Go Crouchy

Amazing food and customer service. The staff were so lovely and it was great price between 5 of us. Thank you!

Beautifully cooked food. Probably the best Indian I’ve been too, counting my blessings I live just down the road. Chicken is so tender. And they’re onion bhajis are just ridiculous, honestly have ruined others for me. Friendly staff too.

Lovely owners with excellent service. One of the owners told me they've been there 40 years, well the shop, but to stand that test of time you have to be good.Their care of the local community is amazing. I saw a member of staff pop out only to return with an elderly woman in her wheelchair and then 10 minutes later cane back with an elderly man. The owner said they collect them whenever they want to come to the restaurant to eat. Not gonna lie it melted my heart a little. That alone is worth 5 stars.Yes fine, the food.I have particular dishes I always choose when I first go to a new place, depending on its food origin. In Asian places its always tandoori chicken, chapati and daal makhni. Each dish very much held their own against what I know. Fantastic.Defo worth a visit. I really don't know what took me so long to try this place.I can't wait to go back.

Delicious food, but on the Saturday our party of 6 went we'd to wait at least 45 min for our grub. It was baking hot and their fridge didn't work, so white wine was not served chilled.

Went with with a friend of mine. We had a very nice meal. Service was timely and efficient. Food was prepared to our taste requirements. Would certainly recommend another visit. Plenty of parking in the area. Staff very helpful and attentive

I have been visiting Samrat once or twice a week for the past five years and have never been disappointed. Sometimes the wait is longer than at other restaurants but that is because the food is always freshly cooked and delicious. The staff are polite and friendly, and the Kingfisher cold and refreshing. Outstanding local cuzza.
