We got at Spice Village on Saturday 12/02 at 19:55 and were seated by 20:10. The order was placed by 20:25. So far so good. Then the wait started. We were seated next to the door leading to an automatic sliding door that did not close. Staff had to repeatedly close it by hand and it was freezing outside. The freezing draft that came in every time someone used the door near our table was terrible. My wife had to keep her shawl on through out our time there. Guys get the automatic door repaired or replace it with a manual one if you cannot afford it.The food did not arrive until 21:40 just in the nick of time as we were planning to leave. The order was very simple. Paneer tikka - it was good. Lamb seek kebab - it was ok - were cold though. Malai chicken- terrible - for god’s sake who puts cheap quality cheddar cheese on malai tikka? Terribly bland. Dal makhani - third grade & pathetic- these guys have no understanding of cooking dal makhani. It was simple boiled Man ki dal with just salt and turmeric. No other spices and no tadka and no makhan nothing pathetic. Initially we thought it was Kali masur. Shameful is the only word that comes to mind. Should have clicked some pictures of the black "thing".. Vegetable jalfrezzi - some random vegetables floating in oil - who puts aubergine and broccoli in this dish? Full of oil and no spices whatsoever in it. Utterly bland. Afghani baby chicken - inedible - i have attached pictures of the raw, bland and oily chicken that they served us. I pity the poor baby chick that had to give up its life to end with this chef. It was first time in my life that i did not finish a non veg fish in a restaurant. RIP baby chick.. Tandoori roti - undercooked they cannot even get roti right. Tandoori nan - edibleA place like this will not survive more then three days in Lahore or Karachi stretch it to a week as they cannot even get basic dal and roti right leave aside meat dishes. Places like this bring shame to food from the sub continent. The owner is making big claims about winning some award in 2019, there was no COVID in 2019 so god knows what had affected the judges pallet to award him whatever he is claiming. He also claims to be using secret spices, with the terrible food served to us, his secret is restricted to salt, oil and turmeric. Will never go there again.

Came here on a weekday evening. Was relatively quiet and we had had good seating inside the restaurant. We ordered the karahi lamb and butter chicken. The curry was nice and spicey, full of taste. Although it was slightly too oily. The butter chicken was also very creamy and the chicken pieces were a good size.

Lovely Pakistani restaurant in the heart of Southall. Food was delicious, great decor and they were able to accommodate our large family with no issues.Would definitely visit again !

I heard a lot about this place & enjoyed their catering at a relatives wedding function, but the place didn’t live up to its hype.We ordered the chicken seek kebabs, Afghani lamb karahi, King prawn karahi & naan.I’m no culinary expert but I’ve eaten at many Pakistani tandoori restaurants over at least 40 years so I know when something is good & the only dish I would give 5 stars would be the desert (Lahori falooda).I can’t fault the customer service though. Overall ok, but nothing to write home about (apart from the desert)!

Perfect location, clean, warm welcome and best customer service. Really best food and taste. Quick and hot. Special thanks to Syed Qutub for the excellent customer service. Has reasonable prices, not too expensive. Bathroom and all the halls were clean. A place to visit for sure if you will be in Southall.

The decor of the restaurant is really nice, clean and has a nice atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and fast service even when it’s really busy. The food is really good, had the mixed grill, butter chicken and chicken jalfrezi. The chicken jalfrezi was nice and spicy but didn’t really like the butter chicken. Wasn’t really creamy and felt like it had a lemony taste. Chops were really soft and great flavour. Overall, the food is really good and love the sweet lassi.

Having been past this place so many times, I wanted to taste the dishes. Shop front is very well located and sign posted, great logo. As you enter the restaurant, the staff are very polite and met us with a smile showing us to our table. We ordered the Chapli kebab which was very nice, although I’d argue it wasn’t authentic and missed some crucial ingredients. The Chicken kebabs were a little dry for my liking but flavoursome. For mains we ordered an Afghan lamb karahi and Chicken dish. I can tell you that the lamb was hot hot hot, too spicy 🌶(yes I know, it’s spicy village rest).I asked the waiter to confirm if it’s normal and he in return wanted to know if I’d like more chillies, swearing bucket loads by this moment. Cooled off with some mango lassi which was very tasty and recommended. The chicken dish wasn’t over spiced or hot (perhaps I’d lost my taste buds) but it was boneless dish so as personal preference not to my liking however was rather annoyed that the waiter didn’t let me know or ask a preference.A fair 3* given due to a great ambiance, decor, seating and fantastic staff who make you feel welcomed. Food on the other hand needs improving.

Heard a lot about Spice Village. Our experience; the food was amazing, very tasty curries. We had the butter chicken and lamb Bhuna. Seekh Kebabs were too spicy for me (I can usually handle a medium at Nandos to put things in perspective) .Service was excellent, even on a Saturday night, contrary to what others have told us about spice village. Our waiter Naz was very polite, welcoming and attentive. Didn’t get the name of another waitress , very sweet young girl, who was also lovely, got us yogurt to help with the spice.

Spice village, southall - reviewCleanliness & hygiene - Table was already set when we were seated. Table top was very sticky synonymous with a pub table! 2/10Popadoms & dips - were brought quickly but were cold. At least they were crispy 6/10Mango chutney - tasty but unfortunately thinned down 4/10Chili sauce - was nice & uniquely over minty, delicious 9/10Chicken tikka - was stupendous. Succulent tender breast pieces with an awesome tandoori coating and grilled to perfection 😍 9/10Chicken sheesh - was nice but the chili and other spices killed the taste of the chicken completely. It was grilled nicely though 6/10Chappal kebab - presented well - lacked meaty flavour though & was far too dry. Taste was average but a decent size 5/10Nan - soft but not fluffy & not particularly tasty 5/10Tandoori roti - was spot on neither too thick nor too thin. Perfect & fresh from the tandoor 9/10Chicken jalfrezi - lovely presentation & colour but comprised mainly of tomatoes and only a couple of tiny pieces of pepper. Overpowering tomato flavour & a lack of sauce - not desi at all. Spices were good & chicken was tasty but the whole point of jalfrezi is peppers & onions 😔 4/10Lamb jalfrezi was better in taste, same looks but tastier with correct blend of spice & chili & nice sauce! Still comprised mainly of tomatoes but at least I got some fresh onions & crispy red peppers with this one. Unfortunately the meat was rather tough (it was mutton and not lamb as advertised) but the flavour made up for it 7/10.Kids meal - chicken burger with fries & fruit shoot. Processed chicken and seriously lacked flavour. My daughter only took 2 bites & left the rest. At least her fries were nice 2/10Staff & service - no smiles, asked for water 3 times before it arrived. No professionalism and some of the waiters lacked a basic level of English so I had to resort to using urdu! 3/10 (place was only half full)Thefoodsheikh says: I'm 50/50 on whether to return here, but give it a try!#halal #spicevillage#spicevillagerestaurant#spicevillagesouthall #halalfoodsouthall #halalfastfood #halalfoodlondon #halalrestaurant #halalrestaurants #halaldesi
