Cannons Traditional Fish and Chips in Enfield

My go to fish and chips in southgate, you can have the fish grilled as well as the usual fried, you can sit in too and they do a great greek salad too however on certain days the fish can taste like it was frozen, other days the fish is so fresh and feels like it just arrived from the market

Served cold fish again. 1st instance thought it was uber eats and took time to deliver. 2nd time went and ordered there. Ordered large cod and chips got home fish cold again and chips not usual quality in fact gone down hill. Didn’t bother calling them as I was not after a discount but never again. Just read reviews and that’s enough to put you off

Busy, busy, busy plaice! Excellent takeaway food, although it's pricey and 25% more £s than 2 other really good chippys I frequent in Enfield & Bush hill. What's with all this more than inflation price creep...

Placed an order via Uber Eats, the order arrived over an hour late.When I took delivery of the order, yes, the portion sizes of the chips were very small in comparison to my previous orders, none were consumed and those are the portion sizes emptied onto the plates. However, my main concern was of the fact that all three portions of the chips were extremely dry and very hard. I have experience of catering first-hand, and it was more than obvious that the chips had been fried beforehand and had been either kept in a warm place or reheated. I have ordered from this restaurant on many occasions, and the chips have always been freshly cooked. All three portions of the chips were extremely hard and were inedible. They were thrown away.I phoned Cannons Fish and Chips immediately and informed them that I was not happy with the quality of the food. The individual that I spoke to provided me with a very poor excuse as to why the chips were in that state, namely that it must have been due to "poor quality potatoes".Will not be purchasing anything from there again.

Delicious battered haddock and friendly and helpful staff. As you often find with fish and chip shops, the portions are enormous, which I feel is not responsible given the need to conserve the environment and the natural world. However, we shared the meal between two of us and that worked well.

Ate in, 5 of us.Couldn't fault it.Cod, chips, chicken and mushroom pie, mushy peas, all really good.Staff are pretty friendly (though the waitress didn't know what a "wally" was.. which she should. Lol, but we'll let her off there, very nice girl)Food came nice and quickly and tasted nice and fresh.A little more expensive than a lot of other places.. But! The food was top quality!

It’s gone downhill and properly ripped off last time. £3.50 for a bag of chips and bag was less than half full. The staff are not friendly at all. I’ll be getting my fish and chips elsewhere.

Good fish!! The fish is very crispy and tasty, though it's a bit tough as you can see from the picture that the piece of fish is a thick one. The chips taste bland and needed to add your own salt. I ordered a cappuccino and it's again, bland.

Beautiful place, great staff and food was 100% the best. Enjoyed scampi, chips and mushy peas, as well as a well needed cup of tea.Location is nice, peaceful but still a busy streetOutside dinning availableWill definitely revisit soon

Had to share my pictures! Loved my lunch today at Cannons! Always really fresh! Best fish and chip shop around! Calamari was Amazing! Staff really friend and the place is spotless! 🙂
