My favourite local pub! Dave and Guy always make us feel so welcome and always make our time great, amazing prices and an even better quiz night on Wednesdays and Sundays. Can’t fault this pub!

The food is better than other ember inns pubs in the local area although it has the same menu. But its the staff that make this place special. They are friendly, attentive and good at their jobs. We always feel very welcome at the Gryphon. I would definitely recommend 👌

We visited the Gryphon for lunch. It was good to see it busy. Food was wonderful and the service was quick. We were told we could order at the table via the QR code but we preferred to order at the bar. The 2 girls that served us very friendly.

Staff are nice and polite. However the ordering process for meals at the bar is impractical for large groups. Meat dishes were good. Fish dishes were small. Bring back harvester and waiter service please. Otherwise bring pen and paper when you go! 😉

Not very good. The QR code on the table says 'order and pay at table', however, it took ages trying to get our food ordered through the App. so we asked at the bar to be told we can order at the bar.We then waited ages for our food and then the mains arrived before we'd had our starters. Food wasn't that special when it did finally arrive.Staff were ok and he manager offered us complimentary drinks.Such a shame as we loved it when it was a Harvester; food was always very good, great service and lovely staff. I doubt we'll go back.

Nice place for food that is simple and caters for all the family. A variety of meals and deals and the baked Nachos are a hit for all kids - well especially mine. Got to order at the bar though, so don't get too comfy. Enjoy 🗣

Very polite and helpful staff. Very nice and reasonably priced food. All in all the Missus and I had a very enjoyable visit. So well done and Many Thanks to all at the Gryphon 👏👍

Nice atmosphere and food. However, after attending the restaurant on multiple occasions i commonly see the same waitress on the floor by herself visibly stressing due to the workload. I have also noticed that as this is happening, other members of staff, including the floor manager, are behind the bar regardless of whether there are guests present or not.On my next visit to the pub i plan on observing the waitress ,assuming she's there, to see if this problem repeats itself and i will be taking a photo to show the manager to see if he is aware of the situation and how it can be sorted

Enjoyed a meal out here with the family. Our waitress was lovely as were the bar staff, and they all gave service with a smile (quite rare these days). Food was good, I ordered sweet chilli noodles and they came out very fresh with lots of healthy veg packed in, so a nice change from the usual pub grub you sometimes find in places like these. Had the perk of some live music towards the end of our evening which was entertaining. We very much enjoyed our visit and I would return without hesitation.

Our first time here & we will definitely be back. Really nice pub, free parking for its visitors. Lovely inside & outside. Much bigger than expected. You can book your table via phone or app in advance - or you can just turn up ( Sep 2021).The menu offer is good, offers variety & reasonably priced. Children menu available. You can order via app or you can order at the bar. Check your table number first. They take cash as well!We went on Saturday afternoon & it was fairly busy, it got very busy around 6pm. We waited for a bit, but nothing major if you are expecting fresh food. The staff were definitely rushed off their feet, but still very nice & smiley & helpful.Food was very tasty, everyone enjoyed it.The toilets were clean, changing room for babies available. Buggy friendly. Definitely family friendly. If I could ask to improve something- please do bring in something for kids to do. A slide, small trampoline, some games, sand pitch, climbing frame, maybe some colouring pencils or boarding games? That would be fantastic ( for parents).I gathered the offer quizzes during the week & there’s a special ( cheaper) food offer Monday - Friday.Overall - a lovely place, yummy food, friendly staff & atmosphere - we will be back.No longer Harvester - it’s under the new management of Ember Inns since September 2021.Thank you!
