We had a family birthday at the weekend The bar staff who looked after us were fab but the night was ruined by the aggressive, rude and over zealous “bouncers” at the end of the night. We were told the bar would close at 11pm and we had to be off premises by 11.30. Well the bouncers herded our guests out within 15 minutes like a group of football hooligans - including my 82 year old dad- in a completely uncalled for manner. I have spoke to many of the guests and they have all commented on the rudeness of the bouncers. I have worked in hospitality and know there is no need to treat people with such disrespect. It was a family occasion with guests from 25- 82 with no hint of trouble so their heavy handed approach was completely out of order. I’d never recommend this venue to anyone I liked !!!!The stars I’ve given were for the fantastic bar staff upstairs who looked after us. Thank you to them

Children and dog friendly environment with a nice selection of food. A decent place to organize kids birthday party. Clean amenities with helpful and welcoming staff. Limited parking space, therefore think ahead of alternatives. Highly recommended.

This is an excellent pub. We had a party of 10, the service was good. Food was excellent, all round across the whole menu. Drinks were decent, barman was very good to adapt to taste too. There was a little blip on service from 1 staff member, I'd like to out it down to a bad day. Food was not cheap, but neither was the quality which for me was good value. Drinks were inflated in price, nothing special here to match the inflated price.

Since its renovation a year or so ago, The Winchmore remains a very smart pub with plenty of tables available for both casual drinks as well as food. A really nice touch is the addition of historic maps and pictures of the local area. This particular visit was for a 40th and a room had been hired to left of the bar area. Service was good and drinks ordered at the bar were brought to our area. All in all a nice local to have.

Had a fantastic evening here. The staff were so helpful and welcoming and the food was brilliant. Highly recommend!

Food very good, definitely better than usual pub grub. Service a bit disorganised. Not much choice of real ale or cider. Overall would definitely visit again.

Nice pub but it's let down by staff. On their phone a a lot of one young girl tried to give me a ripped note back in change and then got upset when I refused to take it demanding what's wrong with it!! Plenty of local pubs with better friendlier service

We are regular visitors and love the place. Yesterday we went for late dinner and we were surprised by portion of coleslaw! Better not to add it at all.Staff used to be amazing before. But recently it's changing .Waiters on their phones by the bar. As they so busy we have to go get our drinks ourselves as glasses just standing .Disappointed .

Was in the upstairs hired area for a party, it was such a great space for it especially with children. The food was brilliant couldn't fault it. The only downside was no draught beer upstairs but that's not really a problem.

Nice, family gastro-pub. Loads of outdoor seating. They use quality ingredients, with top notch animal welfare standards! Farm to table not factory to freezer. It does get loud with kids on weekends but that's all cool if you have them. They have table service post-covid and good distancing. The five stars though is for our waitress... professional yet warm, attentive and so lovely. We wanted for nothing... even though we were sitting outside and out the way. She's the one with the perfect colourful nails.
