Any better than 'good'? Well...The location is good (if you find yourself in Greenwich); the food is good (we had the Beyond Meat Burger Sliders, chicken wings and a dish from the kids' menu); there were dogs there, which is good; the beer garden was good, though a bit dated (although I gather it is getting a refurb in a couple of weeks, just in time for spring!); the selection of drinks was good and the lives were clean (which is also good). What makes this pub better than good is the staff: they're great. Happy, friendly, knowledgeable and chatty. Even if all other aspects were just 'good' I'd probably be back just for them.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch, great service. Child friendly good value for money

Typical English pub, great atmosphere although i was a bit cold, my food was amazing and the waiting time worth it. The beer also fresh and tasty, although the fish was a bit oily.

Great mulled wine! Stopped by here because we were in the area and everyone was super friendly. The drinks were amazing and that chocolate cake was to DIE for.

Booked this pub for a Sunday roast in Jan as we read some nice reviews and had high hopes. Unfortunately we were completely let down. The food was very average and service was only okay. One of our group ordered the vegetarian nut roast, when it arrived there was a very ill-looking 'pig in blanket' on the plate (we assume, leftover from Christmas). Upon checking with the staff if it was a vegetarian version, they had to call the Chef to check and turns out it was meat! The staff came over with a small plate and told her to just remove it from the plate herself. She then poured the gravy over her meal, realised it looked the same as everyone else's meat options - so went back up to the bar again to check and after calling the Chef again, turns out the gravy was also meat.Off the plate goes back to the kitchen while everyone else in our group is sitting there eating our meals. We ordered some more drinks and there was no offer of any kind of compensation to apologise or anything, we thought maybe one of the drinks might be offered as a gesture but no! The staff even seemed to find it a bit amusing. When we had finally all finished, we can collectively say that all the roasts weren't great - the veg must have been frozen/defrosted and was extremely soggy (swimming in liquid in a separate bowl), roasties were dry and yorkshires also soggy. Sticky toffee was delicious but the cheesecake was still half frozen. As we were finishing up, we overheard a table close by also having an issue after ordering a vegetarian pie. They'd eaten some of it and turns out they'd actually been served a chicken pie!All in all, it didn't seem like much care or attention was put into the food (maybe it was an off day...) or the service, which was a shame as the pub is really nice inside with a lovely outside space.

Lovely staff, so helpful. But honestly, my roast was dry and bland. Guess it was like £13 or so, so wasn’t expecting the world but always a bit sad when you go out but make it better yourself. Thanks to the team but food wasn’t for me personally

Been for drinks a few times here, absolutely love the place! Staff always friendly. Inside is just such a nice place to be! Definitely worth a stop here. Never eaten here but menu looks great with good choice of food and reasonable prices.

Cold Guiness, fantastic fish and chips. Friendly service and a cozy garden patio. Highly recommended!

Outstanding Fish and chip lunch, probably the best we've ever had. Amazing selection of craft ales and wonderful staff. Big thanks to the manager for making us feel most welcome. We'll be back.

It was a perfect day to be sitting out in the beer garden for a Sunday roast. My eyes were bigger than my stomach and I went for both chicken and beef roast. The half chicken was delicious, the beef were bit dry and look as though each slice of the roast beef was cooked individually. The most disappointing bit was the lukewarm roast potatoes…
