Tai Pan in Greenwich

Been going here a majority of my life, and it's incredible, best meal is a classic sweet and sour chicken, rice with toffe apple for desert. The service is great and the workers and so nice, especially the owner who's always present making sure it's all great, the atmosphere is very welcoming, go there for a good treat and order the swear/sour!

Absolutely amazing, been going here for years and went today for my birthday and could not fault it at all. Perfect in every way and the food is top notch

Lovely food and service and very close to New Eltham station. Food came out very quickly and was tasty. The restaurant really could do with a refurb but this did not deter from the food.

Went today for Sunday Buffett, disappointed as the food used to be so good, everything was cooked in old used oil which made everything taste awful 😞

So I attended this restaurant yesterday which was a Sunday to treat me and my daughter and was surprised to find that it was an eat as much as you like menu. This consisted of about 15 items described as appetisers and 15 items described as main courses. Examples of the appetisers were crispy seaweed, spring rolls these were mini spring rolls (bought frozen from any decent Oriental supplier and not very good even if you buy the best ones) sesame prawn toast these are also bought frozen from Oriental suppliers, Salt and chilli squid which we had two portions of and this was actually half decent although I can tell the difference between frozen and fresh squid and this was definitely frozen but it was okay. The main course side had chicken curry and Sezhuan prawns amongst quite a few other dishes and I sampled both of these aforementioned - The chicken was definitely frozen poor quality with a flavourless curry sauce although there was some fresh peppers in it and the prawn dish was horrendous - I was shocked at how red the sauce was and the only flavour that came through for me was tomato ketchup which I was horrified about. Not surprisingly the prawns were a frozen variety of average quality but quite big. The main courses menu also includes egg fried rice or special fried rice and Singapore style vermicelli. We had both of these and the special fried rice was basically egg fried rice with three tiny prawns and a few pieces of what looked like chopped up Spam but certainly wasn’t cha siu pork which is what should be used. There was zero vegetables in the special fried rice and the Singapore style vermicelli had no chilli or curry flavouring which is what makes that dish Singapore style and as a consequence was flavourless oily and disappointing. We ordered two drinks which was a large glass of diet Coke each and I was mortified when the bill arrived to see that they charged us £8.80 for these two glasses so therefore £4.40 each for a pint of cola. The meal was £16.80 per head and while the concept of eating as much as you like makes it sound very attractive and reasonably priced the quality of the food was a massive let down and I feel that they cut too many corners in the quality of their ingredients to make it remotely worth visiting again. To add insult injury the staff were very unfriendly and spoke to us in sentences of no more than three or four words and I had the general feeling that they just wanted our money and to get us out of there as soon as possible. They were also constantly speaking to each other in their own language which I found quite rude.

Had a pleasent set meal and.a bottle of wine. Nothing to rave about, was very busy and staff didn't appear too happy. Would I go there again? Probably, but not to impress anyone.

Visited this lovely restaurant last night with 6 friends for a birthday get together.The food was fantastic. Hot and freshly prepared. Alan was very friendly and helpful, and was happy to change dishes from the set menus without fuss. The prices were unbelievable and great value.Little family run places like this are rare so please call in and say I sent you!

Excellent food, with fresh ingredients. Good service and helpful staff. The sunday buffet is excellent value for money. But make sure you book for the buffet as its normally packed by 2pm. Parking not the easiest but worth the walk. Unfortunately they don't deliver but your welcome to order and collect. Probably the best Chinese restaurant in the area and has been established for many years.

Great food, great service. The workers are very friendly and so is the owner. we had the lobster (which needs to be requested a day in advance so they could order in fresh)
