Love going to Baxter's Court. They are so busy and the staff are great. Unfortunately they seem to never have enough staff. The staff are doing a great job but are so rushed off their feet. Please be kind to the staff and be considerate and patient.

Really comfortable little oasis with a balcony area upstairs with covered seating and heating in the cold. The food was prompt and hot, the staff polite, friendly and non intrusive. I've only given it 4 stars because it's standard Weatherspoons food, nothing too exciting, but other than that it's a lovely little bar just right for my work day lunch.

I visited this place between 7pm and 8pm on Feb 8th while in England. Unfortunately the 2 young ladies working that night were so unfriendly and reluctant to serve our small group of 3 that they bordered on hostility. One of them grabbed her handbag, got herself a meal and began eating, leaving us to wait several minutes for her coworker, while watching her devour her dinner at a table close to ours. The other disappeared in the back for exactly 8 minutes after I had to politely ask her to wipe the table that we had decided to sit at. I was confused I'd never experienced anything like that before, especially since there were only 2 other customers in there besides ourselves. It was not busy! The food when it finally arrived was not too bad. It was typical pub food that can be enjoyed with a few alcoholic beverages. I wouldn't totally rule it out for others to try. Good luck! Unfortunately I will not be revisiting this place.

Order drinks through the app, one of two drinks didn't show up for 30 mins so went to the bar for it, second drink appeared an hour later but we were allowed to keep it for free. Better of going straight to the bar for any drinks, however during busy times it's painful.

It's a Wetherspoons, so you pretty much know what you'll get. Great prices and a big pub. This is a great one for people watching. It makes other wetherspoons look upmarket. I love it.

The longest I've ever had to wait to be served! I was 3rd in the queue and stood there for 20 minutes before being served. There was an obvious lack of staff, with only 1 visibly distressed bar person serving a packed out pub. The other bar person was going around the pub chatting to people and collecting glasses the whole time when it was so obvious he was needed behind the bar. Even the security guard came in to see what was going on because the queue ended up looking like a very large mob of people. We were really disappointed which is a shame because it seemed like a decent place with a good atmosphere. There was just no service and zero friendliness, politeness, or professionalism from the bar staff.

A classic wetherspoons bar in Hackney. It was crowded on a Friday night but you can find tables thanks to 2 floors. I can't say it was clean and tidy as it was crowded. The service was fast, we ordered drinks through app.

The pros of Wetherspoons are consistent: low-price reliable drinks and food - hence an automatic three star minimum. So in most cases the only real differential is the location and how much character it has… in the case of Hackney that is limited. On the plus side, it is a large Wetherspoons, so getting a table should not be too difficult, and there are two outdoor spaces: a courtyard just inside one of the entrances and a “garden” patio upstairs. The staff were a mixture of enthusiastic/eager to please and robotically tired of a thankless task. Fingers crossed you get here the former. But as usual, if you are looking for a cheap pint or meal in unfussy surroundings, you can’t go wrong here.If you found my review or photos useful, please leave a thumbs up 👍 Thanks!
