Busaba Eathai in Hackney

Lovely place with good atmosphere but my food was cold by the time it arrived. The starter came at the same time as the main. The beef was very chewy and they need to consider that not all customers want to share a table with other customers they do not know.

Visited last night, Sunday Evening, the restaurant was quiet but a nice atmosphere. Sadly it lacked any form of customer service, very quiet waiting staff who seemed to lack any enthusiasm or experience. Didn't seem very friendly at all, If anything a little miserable.When ordering a meal which does not come with rice or noodles, I may have expected the server to ask if we would like any as a side when ordering. These are simple things which go a long way, but service with a smile costs nothing. A shame as the food was very nice, but overall experience very poor.

The first time I ate at a Busaba, it was 2005. Their food was outstanding and cheap; needless to say, I was overjoyed when more branches started opening, and they were close copies of the original in Soho.Two years ago, when I last visited, the quality had dipped somewhat, but it was still very close to the food that had people queue outside on a regular basis.Last night was a disappointment.My fried rice was stodgy, the prawns barely tasted on anything and were chewy, all served in a bowl which made eating out of it challenging, there were large onion petals that I did not bother eating. Nobody else at my table appeared to have enjoyed their food.In a few words, this place is a far cry from what it was a mere two years ago.

Not the best Busaba experience I’ve had. 30min wait for starters. Had to remind them twice to bring our wine as one of the members of staff forgot. Our chicken satay was pink in the middle so we told them, they asked if we wanted another one and we agreed - only to wait for another 20mins for it to arrive.However, the chilli prawn rice was very good!

It was a cold, quiet Sunday evening, so not many customers. The decor was nicely modern and subtly lit, not traditional Thai.But ,despite being charming, our waitress was slow to get our food back us, and my friend's "Crispy Duck" with noodles were leathery, dry and chewy.After predictable and safe vegetable spring rolls, my "Sweet and sour Chicken" was neither of those, being served with a sauce lacking flavour, but with at least tender chunks of chicken.I would go back and give them a second chance.

Went here for my birthday with a large group. Great ambience and large, square tables, which is a great seating arrangement for groups.Some of the items we ordered arrived a bit late, but overall the staff were very receptive and friendly. Food quality and portion sizes were great for the price!

Beautiful food, I was so impressed with the calamari, the best I have ever tasted so compliments to the chef!Soup was lovely and the crispy noodles were interesting and added interest and crunch.Will definitely return

I enjoyed an amazing experience with my fiancée at this lovely restaurant. We were able to get a table within 5 minutes which was great, the food was very tasty but the service was a bit slow and we needed to hunt down the waiters. The layout, ambiance of the restaurant and quality of food made up for the slow service

Such a lovely experience!!! Very nice ambiance music, the staff was so helpful and recommended some amazing dishes, hands down the best Thai I had in London. Will come back and recommend it to all my friends!
