Cafe Sov in Hackney

This cafe is amazing, a bit expensive but wonderful. Everything is made in a clean environment so I really liked that. great taste with good service and clean environment. I like thisWe ate a variety of dishes and every dish have great taste ☺️

We had a nice quiet breakfast at this place and the atmosphere was bright and overall lovely. Food on the other hand was a bit of a let down after all the positive reviews in papers. Bread was cut thin and thus toasted a bit too much we had difficulties biting into it, toppings were good though! Egg and cheese sandwich though intentionally basic was quite tasteless despite the choice of cheese? Perhaps we will have better luck with lunch menu!

Worth a visit if you're in the area. Went for breakfast and had the black pudding and brown sauce - highly recommend. Only giving four stars as there was a bit of a wait for the food and the other dish (eggs on Guinness bread) that was ordered was burnt. That being said, I would definitely go back.

Excellent food. Everything we had was delicious, including a particularly memorable plate of tomatoes with agretti. I'd never heard of the latter before, but it combined beautifully with the roasted tomatoes - a salty and slippery plant, similar to, but less fishy than, samphire. Desserts were spectacular - deep fried bread and butter pudding with custard, Guinness bread ice-cream. We were somewhat defeated by the end, and had to leave about 1/4 of our chocolate cake which I regretted the next day.

Words would never be enough to express my love for this place: the food, the atmosphere and the people are unique! I come here quite often and I am never disappointed. I truly recommend this restaurant and I just truly congratulate all the people that makes this place with their hard work so special.

Cafe Cecilia…… I really wanted to like you but I was really disappointed.After waiting weeks for a table we arrived Friday lunchtime and we’re greeted by quite a moody, lethargic waitress who told us to sit anywhere which had 2 place settings. Menus were then plonked down in-front of us and she walked off…. they weren’t busy!Now if I was walking into a cheaper chain restaurant I wouldn’t have been so bothered. But Cafe Cecilia has just opened, it’s just off Broadway market and it took weeks to book…. so you expect to be made to feel a little special when you arrive and at least for someone to explain the menu or a little bit about the restaurant.The cheapest house wine at £5 a glass was ok, the crab on toast was unexpectedly sloppy but tasted great and the butternut squash dish was beautiful along with the full roasted fish! So well done chefs, I can’t complain about the quality of the food :)I ordered a (flat white) to finish and it came out looking a bit all over the place and not the beautiful frothy finish which I sort of expected. I had to ask for a tea spoon and sugar which seemed to be a real effort for the waitress to get. The crockery was cheap but hey who cares if the taste was great, but it really wasn’t.The bathroom was badly designed and dirty hand towels were just thrown into a slot under the sink which looked terrible and there wasn’t any hand wash left which was concerning especially as we’ve just been through a pandemic.All in all there are so many good restaurants in east london that right now I wouldn’t go back. But with a few adjustments to customer service, facilities and coffee I may consider it.

Was looking forward to tasting the hype. A little disappointing to be honest. The narrow part of the room is very noisy from the air con above. (also close to the toilet) We had , pizzette, was fine, A tad salty from the cheese, anchovies, a funny bitter twang, rabbit ragu very good but very small (tiny bunny) Hake with tomato salad, tomato salad was just skinned baby tomatoes, and I had a strange tail part of Hake. To me it feels like a noisy staff canteen, no reason to return.

Cute little cafe, but I thought it was very noisy, almost felt like we had to shout at the waiters when ordering. We ordered the pizzetta and fried anchovies to start. The pizza was quite salty. The anchovies had a bitter aftertaste, which I don’t know if it’s normal, but I did not like it at all.The rabbit pasta(around £13) was very nice but I only wish the portion was bigger. The hake was nice too(simply grilled), but not sure about the cherry tomatoes and onions(£23). The menu was very simply worded so it was hard for me to imagine how the dishes would materialize.
