Mixed messages. The 6 course veg/vegan tasting menu for £39 would sound like a steal but left a lot to be desired including a healthy dose of inspiration. It was actually the cocktails that were out of the world and I will definitely be coming back for a drink.Highlights: some strong and interesting flavours (the leek, yeast, pickled rhubarb, shio hazelnut), interesting use of charring. The 2 'mains' were provocativeand enjoyable. I thoroughly enjoyed the desert and wished there was more of it. The chef came out to speak to us and was really fab.Improvements: the 3 'starters' were disappointing, lacking direction and cohesive flavour, just glorified bar snacks. The chef might take a moment to think how he can bring the punchiness of the final 3 courses to the first 3. Lots of scope to introduce mediterranean vegetables here e.g. artichokes, asparagus.

Delightful place with excellent staff and chefs providing an alternative to the "usual" bars. Great place to hang out, chill, drink and eat. Superb Cocktails. However they don't have Diet Coke so don't ask.

Love this place. Great food, wine, and setting. Menu changes regularly, which is perfect for a neighbourhood spot. And the staff is the highlight - came in with my daughter for a quick snack and because they didn’t have juice without bubbles (she’s 3) they ran to the store to get her some. Thrilled to have a place like this in our area.

Great food and service, very reasonably priced. Not that keen on the pork belly but everything else perfect. Loved the wine options and that they gave us some to try before choosing.

An absolutely beautiful meal.Well composed dishes. Delightful to look at. Complex flavours. Excellent food all around.Fast, friendly, and efficient service. The only negative was the portion size of our cauliflower dish. But, it did not detract from the overall experience.Thoroughly enjoyed. Looking forward to coming back asap.

Lovely wine bar/ coterie. The staff were so warm and enthusiastic, felt like being served by friends. Sommelier was knowledgable and recommended an Australian Shiraz from Heathcote, which was fresh and smooth. Had a smoky cocktail to start which I would recommend. Food was interesting, especially the veggie options, loved the celeriac main and Sichuan potatoes.

Nestled aside the station, the facade is inconspicuous and perhaps easily missed. But for the initiated, arriving Inside the lofty and simple space offers deep refrain from the adjacent frenetic five points node. I was very much expecting to leave hungry for a bag of chips having been humiliated for my inadequate wino knowledge but the reality was far different. Although the offering is sharp and accomplished there was no stifling pretence, instead a relaxing and almost communal setting. The set menu was both generous and delicately composed. The service relaxed but rigourous. I get the sense the Coterie is still taking its first steps and may well soon me catalysed to dizzy gastronomic heights. But if they can retain the sense of humility which seemingly underpins their current operation I'm sure they'll go far

My FAVOURITE place to eat and drink in Hackney bar none, and the dream spot I've been waiting for as a Hackney Downs local! Great space, fantastic staff with amazing wine and the food is of the highest quality. I can (almost) guarantee you will order multiple layered potatoes and the shredded salad is way more than the sum of its parts. Salmon steaks are big and beautiful things. Go there. Go there now

Food was pricy. It was good but wouldn’t go here often. I did buy a couple of bottles of wine from here and excited to try them!
