Mangal Ocakbasi Restaurant in Hackney

Food was delicious, prices were very reasonable and the staff were some of the friendliest I’ve come across. Took my joke about the “other mangal” nearby very well. Great for a quick bite before a gig as I’ve just done. In and out in 30 mins.

Our favourite Turkish place in London!! High turnover means the meat is always fresh and juicy. Perfect for romantic ... pig-outs! :)

Have been enjoying the best kebabs in Hackney here for years now . And I finally thought I’ll leave a review that is much deserved. This is by far the most traditional kebab restaurant in Hackney, and food is absolutely the freshest because of the huge turnover of customers. Salads are always fresh and crisp. The lamb and chicken is marinated well and tender and juicy. The pitta bread is fresh and soft . And best of all it’s bring your own alcoholic drinks. As they refuse to sell alcohol being strong Muslims.But the off license is just across the road.I’ve eaten here with groups of friends of many nationalities and they’ve all commented the kebabs are of the best they’ve eaten anywhere. My family are even more spoiled eating here at least once a week.

The best authentic Turkish restaurant in the area. I ordered half chicken and half lamb kebab.it was delicious I've ever had. the staff are very friendly and helpful, absolutely I will be back soon. thank you so much.

As a vegetarian, I did not know what to expect from this place. Well, I got blown away. Each dish was a delight, from the hummus to the tomato salad to the tsatsiki. Big fan of this place, and Dalston is an amazing neighborhood.

I have been going to this restaurant since 5-6 years. I can safely state that this is the best turkish restaurant in UK - and Yes I have been to loads of them. This is not your standard turkish restaurant - they have a different variety - such as Lokma Kebeb which are medallions of lamb with chilli/pepper pierced into them and covered on the side with fat. Also their Adana Kebab tastes very different to what you will find at the usual ones.It is a little pricier compared to other joints but I would pay the premium for the quality of meat and taste. One downside is that their chilli sauce is very rubbish, however it does not bother me as the taste of meat is excellent.Staff are all very polite and friendly.Definitely worth a visit.

Probably the best Mangal I have been to. Been going for few years and it never disappoints. Very good quality meat, cooked over charcoal. Simple and tasteful. Literally there is not a bad dish in the whole menu. Super worth the price. See you soon!

reliable and delicious Turkish grilled foods. I've had both their takeaway and dine in experiences. Their service is very good. Super fast. Attentive and they advise on good options.Cosy interior and rustic decor with exposed brickwork. Ideal for family or friends.Only thing is that don't do garlic sauce which is a massive let down!
