Been ordering food from this place for a while and thought it was great. Dined in for the first time and thought I’d try some new dishes. Ordered a vegetarian sweet and sour tofu soup and was told this is vegan, could smell the fish sauce when it arrived. I asked the waiter if there was fish saw in the dish and he said no and he would go ask the kitchen. Turns out they use fish stock in the soup. When I explained that this is not vegan nor vegetarian, the waiter tried to explain how fish is vegetarian… They we’re not apologetic at all. Will not be going back.

Went for dinner with a group of friends one night, I read the menu before hand and saw loads of vegetarian options. Upon arriving I ordered the vegetable stir fry with tofu. When it came out it was not a “mixed veggie stir fry” but a bunch of bok choy, 3 carrots, & 4 pieces of tofu in a watery sauce. Not sure how this is mixed veggie, but it gets worse. I immediately tasted a fishy residue from the veggies but I assumed it was my other friends meals wafting over to me. Immediately upon arriving home I feel ill. This prompted me to read reviews, 1 week prior to going another customer who was vegetarian recieved a vegetarian dish with fish sauce. FISH SAUCE IS NOT VEGETARIAN. Be respectful and responsible to your customers as fish is ANIMAL BYPRODUCT. This will make true vegetarians and vegans SICK. Will never be returning as the owners can not adhere to the basic dietary restriction standards. Awful.

A group of us stumbled upon this place in Hoxston after being at an event.It looked really spacious inside so gave it a try.The food was really really delicious and very well presented.I particularly recommend the Salt & Pepper Squid.It was quite hard to get the staff's attention to order or get the bill but other than that it was great.Would return again.

We visited based on the amazing reviews. We live locally and know many of the other Vietnamese restaurants in Shoreditch. Mien Tay restaurant ​is well below the standards of most of them. The food is bland and average. The wine is horrendous. Their main focus is on cocktails and hyperactive party music, which is definitely not what we were expecting. 1 star for posting several likely fake reviews a day and cheat on other businesses in the area. 1 star more because the service was very good. I'll give them that. My advice: go somewhere else, and careful with the reviews you see. Too many in a short time is a red herring

Spring onion beef was delicious 10/10,veggie spring rolls also decent.We also had the salt and pepper squid which tasted alright but the chunks were a little bit too big to be a mouthful. Delicious taste of the perfectly cooked beef more than makes up for this 5 Stars.

Good Vietnamese speciality fish restaurant. It was busy when I visited with family but staff coped well. Shame about the absence of summer rolls on menu from when it was the Anh Dao but otherwise food was excellent!

There are many Vietnamese restaurants in the area but, Mein Tay offers authentic Vietnamese food and that too at a reasonable cost. Also, offers couple famous beers from Veitnam and Singapore. Must try, if you happen to be in area.

This is seriously the best food in the world, at least for me. There is loads of choice and everything that I have eaten there has been delicious, very flavoursome and fresh. I come here regularly when in London. The service is fast and friendly. I highly recommend it! The coconut water was the best ever as well 😍

Food was good enough, although the rice had an odd chemical aftertaste. Service a bit below standard, forgot to bring our tap waters, as well as having a loud confrontation with another customer!
