Tonkotsu East in Hackney

Nice friendly staff but possibly the worst karage I have had, had it before from tonkotsu but nothing like this, was covered in oil, lacked flavour and the batter was all wet with oil, hairy and falling off the chicken. Never again

Had a great lunch here on a Saturday early afternoon. Friendly service, attentive service, efficient. Really tasty food. We had two different types of ramen, pork gyoza and a kids bento box. Prices are quite fair, portions were than ample. Nice ambiance overall. They provide crayons and paper with images for colouring in. I always appreciate when restaurants have drawing supplies for kids. We had a great experience and would happily return here for another meal.

Under the railway arches. Ramen, Katsu and all the Japanese standard meals. Order via app and it's delivered to your table. Not much variety in menu, staff seem a bit bored with it all. Seems to get a good, local & young crowd.

Well priced, tasty ramen noodles (average price £10) including vegetarian variations and starters including the Chicken Kara-Age (£6.25) served in an industrial setting. Part of a fourteen store chain in London ordering through app was easy and simple. Service was quick, efficient and warm. Outside seating is available if requested.

I had the soya tantemen - best ramen I've ever had. Service was top notch and all food arrived quickly. Music selection was fabulous. Best dining experience in ages.

Incredible ramen, varied menu without being overwhelmed by too many choices, great (!!) vegan options, and a really good value lunch deal. Excellent service, and very nice interior.

Like a sort of noodle cave, but cosy and with a high ceiling, staffed by smiling mostly non-Asiatic people. Somewhat limited but good quality menu I'd say. As always, the main difference between this and a place in Japan is the lack of MSG and the fact that the broth is always just warm and not piping hot as it would be over there (not sure why that is but hey).

Every time we’re in London we visit this great place. And I have to admit that this year it has become much better - the service is really good, much more clean everywhere, the food is brilliant and it seems that the manager-girl gives her soul to the business. Good quality ramen and some non ramen dishes. Tasty and they come in a decent portion. Comparable quick and friendly service. Outside places are quite nice with plants and a fence for the fact, that the side street isn't the prettiest. Would come again.
