Stilton pastry that was honestly the perfect size. I thought I was going to want more, but this little confection is absolutely the correct size for how decadent and rich the cheese and pastry are together.

Great for a treat. I bought a latte & slice of raspberry layer cake.

Scones - feta and prune - both delicious, some of the best scones I’ve had anywhere.Cinnamon bun - confusing. Not like a soft bun at all, almost like it’s made of rolled up scone dough? Sort of dense and very buttery and flaky. It tasted quite nice but wasn’t what I was expecting. Maybe it needs a new name as many people in the reviews seem disappointed.Prices - quite high but not unusual for the area.

Very disappointing. Ordered a very small £3 cupcake. The man serving asked me to tap my bank card on the white pad, no price was visible. I asked if I could please see the figure. He turned the till towards me and it showed £3.50. I queried the discrepancy, and he told me 'It's an old sign'. When I told him 'You can't do this', he told me that he couldn't change the price 'as I've been charging that all day'. I informed him that I would 'leave it' and, on principle, I took my money and custom elsewhere.

Honestly really disappointed with the cake cinnamon bun and hot chocolate!Where do I even start? the cinnamon bun was so so dry I don’t think I’ve ever tasted or experienced anything like the taste, rock hard and just bitter.Vanilla vegan cake absolutely dry it was like my sister and I ate a sand cake with super sweet icing, extremely disappointing. The hot chocolate they literally give a baby cup definitely 150ml cup charging £3.70 was supposed to be a hot chocolate but tasted as if she warmed up oat milk and gave it to us no flavour, sugar NOTHING!I’ve walked past this shop for years and thought today was the day to give it a try but tbh I wish I didn’t… that was £15 I could have just through down the drain I feel robbed.violets please do better!!!!!

Truly wanted to give this place five stars - this cute little bakery has delicious pastries, including moist cupcakes, delectable cookies and gooey toasties. Unfortunately, while the server on the register was very nice, she was not able to recommend things from the menu. And the one who gave us our takeaway didn’t call our name loudly enough for us to hear but then complained that she’s been looking for us, though we were sitting right next to the door. It was also unclear why we got things in takeaway packaging at all when we told them we’re sitting outside, seems very wasteful. I would still recommend this place as I like to support small local businesses, but would suggest that they place a higher emphasis on service in the future!

Nice and quiet cafe. Their cupcakes were really good, one of the best I had, very light and tasty in the same time. Cookies were good as well. Had a coffee as will which was good. The options were limited but I would like to try more things in the future.

Cupcakes were just the right amount of sweet but they’re definitely on the pricier side.

Delicious cakes. I absolutely loved the fact that this venue is in a very quiet road between Hackney and Dalston. Loved also the understated decor and the focus on cakes.I was very pleased with my Amalfi lemon elderflower cake. it was delicious and the cake was the perfect consistency. My other 'love at first bite' was their chocolate cupcake. I usually dislike chocolate in cake but this one didn't have such a decadent after-flavour and it was nice and fudgey at the same time.Loved the flowers on the cakes. Looked so fresh. Only leaving 4 stars as it would be great to have more flexibility over ordered cakes with the icing. Thanks!

Perfect seasonal birthday cake for my 2nd lockdown birthday. Beautifully decorated. The shop has great vivid protocol (one group inside at a time, and enough room for staff to socially distance) and lots of lovely pastries + coffee.
