Been here today and had typical pub lunch of fish n chips and vegan pasta and yummy sticky toffee pudding. Excellent service by Andrea. A bit pricey but worth it!

Gorgeous local restaurant as intimate, homely and delicious as it ever has been! Absolutely scrumptious meal of chorizo sausages, followed by roasts and banoffee pie to die for. Heartily recommended! X

I live locally and have been going to the Grove for years. Whilst it’s still a great location the food is terrible. Since pre COVID I have to ask to have a warm plate served as the food goes cold really quickly. I have visited twice with friends since 19th July and on each occasion the main courses were cold. Cold meat and mashed potato and risotto. The sauce for the chicken pie had coconut in it, there’s no ingredients listed on the menu and I am allergic to coconut. The gravy for the pork was vinegar, from a previous experience I asked to have it on the side as it had made the dish inedible. On my latest visit I was so glad it came separately. Even though we sent back one dish we were charged the full service charge. I decided not to send mine back as I was so embarrassed having recommended to a friend we go there. It seemed like an inconvenience to accept there could be anything wrong with the food. It wasn’t busy, there was at least 3 staff in the kitchen. So disappointing that you have lost a local family and friends. Post COVID, it’s not really surprising that The Grove is not busy which is really sad as it hasn’t a lot of it’s style of restaurant competition in the locality.

My favourite local! I used to go all the time before Covid and so happy it has reopened. Food is always great here - I usually go for the fish dishes or the steak because of the quality. Since it has reopened they added more outside seating too. Service has been a little rushed since reopening but the staff are so nice and friendly and you can see how hard they're working. It is nice to see the owner (I think he is the owner, maybe manager) working too, pulling pints and taking orders. Gives the place a family feel. Welcome back Grove!

It appears there is no consistency with the quality of the food. Sometimes I was there and it was delicious and some other times it was burned. Also, I think it’s overpriced and since I had my food served burned, I never went back there. The photos are not from the that night, but I even have these.P.S. as for the owner reply bellow- this is your food and from your restaurant and you come over personally to apologise. However, you did NOT offer to exchange this burned food. Maybe you should take some responsibility instead of claiming this is not the true review.

A really "Full" English Breakfast, the food is grilled. REALLY GOOD, HIGHTLY RECOMMENDED! With good value. Another day, I have a lunch set there, two course, very good quality dishes. Surprised good food in a pub.

A small restaurant that serves different European dishes. The portion is generous and the taste is good. The lighting is a little bit dim which is good for some night chat with friends.
