Great for a guys afternoon..night...sports and alcohol...how good does it get?.drink responsibly Quiet clean location

Lovely old school local pub, friendly owner and staffs, everything is great in there from beers to atmosphere and staffs and cleanliness.

Went here for my friends birthday yesterday with a huge group, all bought multiple drinks (around 20-30 drinks in total). Had ONE cider from a previous pub that I had not yet finished so finished it as we arrived and left the empty bottle on our outside table with all our other drinks. Despite having bought many many other drinks afterwards the owner of this pub kicked off when she found my one small empty cider. Despite apologising, understanding, and explaining the situation to the owner, she did not listen and was outright rude and nasty.I live on the same road as this pub and have also heard many similar stories about the owner of this pub being nasty and starting fights for no reason. If you look at all the bad reviews for this place they all also mention the owner. Would not recommend this pub, Clissold Arms and Village Green are infinitely better.

Superb pub, friendly staff and good priced quality beer. Always a pleasure to visit, just wish that I lived closer!

Great spot, traditional English pub vibe with lots of wood, carpets and low ceilings. Staff is lovely as well and they do a cracking Sunday roast! They show football, there is a garden, a pool table and a juke box.

Lovely pub with excellent service. The staff brought us blankets to sit outside with!

I didn't go inside as it was sunny.its a nice terrace. This review is for the Sunday lunch which was amazing.

The landlady had a go at me for not ordering another drink after I had told her I was feeling drunk enough and didn't want one. No wonder her staff badmouth her behind her back. I had a good view of the football I was watching for free though.Edit after her response: Looking at other reviews this isn't the first time you skew context to make yourself seem favourable. I did buy a drink after I arrived, and my group were buying multiple drinks throughout the match. But apparently 10 drinks isn't enough for one table.I think your low point was using lockdown as a pity card to justify pressuring someone to drink more. And your little strop when I ordered a coke highlighted that all you care about is rinsing customers.

Fantastic Pub! A welcome change from the posh spots around the area. Beautiful classic interior, chilled out, nice staff, proper Covid safe... A spot for the locals. Its a hidden gem. Outdoor area too... if we ever get covid free I'm popping down for a game of pool 🎱
