Owens Foodstore in Haringey

My sister encountered misogynistic, ageist and profoundly anti-disabled practices at this cafe. She's in her late sixties, severely disabled and in pain from spinal stenosis and suffers from diabetes insipidus. Recently, she went in feeling faint and chronically dehydrated which leaves her prone to passing out and tremors. As well as ordering lunch, she asked for a glass of water. When it didnt arrive she asked again. It didnt arrive a second time. Finally fearing that she was going to faint she left in order to buy an bottle of water and was, by this time, too shaky and unwell to return. Today, several weeks later, when she returned and tried to order lunch a young man, who called himself the manager, harassed and bullied her. He accused of rudeness by failing to return and "explain herself" to the young and able bodied staff who had repeatedly failed to give her a simple glass of water. Shame on you Owens. Shame on you "manager". No humanity. No kindness. No concern or care for others.

1st time there ,enjoyed the atmosphere food and coffee, will come back again.

All that you can imagine a local coffee shop / restaurant should be. Friendly, cosy, interested and personal. oh yes and the food, drink and service are great too 😀

Their coffee is great. Lovely spot for breakfast. The staff are always friendly. Highly recommended.Also, the peanut butter blondie is a game changer. A work of art. A heather in the mire. Why continue living a half-life when invigoration lies a mere bite away.

Wonderful Cafe to enjoy a lovely breakfast with a nice coffee and delicious homemade cookies. The place is cosy and a warm atmosphere, the staff are really friendly. The Deli is one of my favourite, the butchery , fruits and veggies are fresh and full of taste. What can be said , I’m absolutely love it!!

Been going to Owens for last 3 years .My favourite place for breakfast, coffee and organic food. Cozy, family friendly, quality food that tastes lovely.

Sweet looking little cafe... mediocre breakfast - heavily overpriced. Toast, two eggs and avocado for £7.75... wot? The decor is bright and friendly, but some of the decorations (and the bathroom mirror) were topped with a thick layer of dust. Troubling as some of the decorations hang above the coffee cups. There isn't any table service, the staff are friendly but one of them was coughing into thier hand behind the bar. If you're sick please stay home. The teapots look cute... but couldn't pour without dribbling. It's a form over function kind of place. Probably not coming back. If you want good service, great prices and a lovely breakfast visit Alex's Cafe about 10 mins walk away. Its nothing to look at but delivers on the things that really matter.

It’s a lovely local cafe which gets very busy with young mums, dads and toddlers. They have a good selection of breakfasts, light lunch options like soups and sandwiches and lots of cakes and pastries. There is also a little deli attached to the cafe where you can buy expensive and artisan food items. I’ve even spotted a celebrity there once!The only improvement I can suggest is that the staff could be slightly friendlier. Please smile more guys!
