I’ve worked in hospitality for a large chunk of my life and always treat bar / waiting staff with respect, so when I apologetically asked to send back and have refund a for one of the starter dishes I ordered and was unhappy with, I was met with rudeness from the manager. I was threatened that if I didn’t pay for it, she would have to ‘pay for it herself’ which is nonsense. Really disappointing experience.

Beautiful pub. Unfortunately we were met with an unfriendly and unwelcoming vibe, staff who couldn't be bothered to look our way let alone make eye contact with us. It was virtually empty when we arrived just before 1pm on a Sunday and there appeared to be more staff than customers. Still impossible to get service unless you're one of their mates.Everything you could criticise Crouch End for on a bad day, in one establishment: entitled, overpriced and up its own backside. We left and found a much nicer reception at The Railway Tavern just up the road.

Lovely historical Victorian classic English pub. A lot of detail on the walls and it is a charming pub that we're lucky to live near to. Can sometimes struggle to find a seat but it is worth it.We tried the food for the first time and it was absolutely delicious and phenomenal for a pub. Very generous portion of triple cooked chips with a chicken milanese that covered most of the plate accompanied with a spring green vegetable medley was a lovely dish! Never tried the dessert here but there is a fantastic selection of main dishes and I can't wait to try the Roast one Sunday.Dropped one star purely because dishes are a bit on the pricey side but the food was very nice and table service was really good. Would come back for drinks and for more food with friends.

So so nice, excellent tatsy food. We came last week for the very first time and we are here again this Sunday, highly recommended.

Was with my daughter at another pub when she suggested coming here for lunch. "What kind of food do they do" I asked. My heart sank when she replied "pub food" but we came anyway. If this is pub food then it is on the next level - superb. All the dishes were about £15 and worth every penny. Wish all "pub food" was like this.

Unique local pub with amazing Victorian original features. Has a great atmosphere with a separate dining area. Food is usually very good but Sunday roast was a bit underwhelming.

Really good food and drink for decent prices - not always the case in London! Dog friendly pub and a very nice atmosphere in general. Will definitely return.

Great pub, best in Crouch, Muswell, Highgate triangle. Superb curved bar. Food better than pub average. Some staff could be a bit more engaging.

Fancied a Sunday lunch after a Saturday night celebration and in lieu of making it at home or being invited round someone else's, decided to get 2 x Sunday Lunch as takeaway. All was absolutely spot on - meat & veggie options, all with a great pile of greens, carrots & roasties. Meat was outstanding (Roast Pork Belly) and the overall portion size was good enough for a decent sized leftover meal. Gravy (v.important) had good thickness & delicious flavour. Not thin or 'stock powder'-y in any way. Paid for 2 meals at £14/per and actually got 4 meals out of it. Superb value for money, great helpful and attentive wait staff, everything boxed up exceptionally well and was so very very tasty. I think my great meal was not a one-off either & feel if I went there in a month's time, Id still get the same high quality awesome food. Well done The Queens!

Really good. Excellent (newish?) Manager. She helped get us settled on a suitable table with our 21 month old without us even seeking out help. She saw us, came over and sorted it. We had roast dinners which were lovely; the roast potatoes were yummy and I loved the mix of veg- carrot and swede mash- a rare find, courgette ribbons and cabbage. Plus, huge Yorkshire puddings! Couldn't fault it. Staff behind the bar are always super friendly too. Will be back for more!
