Victoria Stakes in Haringey

Like this pub quite a bit. Staff are helpful and friendly. The pub grub was good. The cheese burger and fries were cooked well. My friend enjoyed the butternut squash soup. The yard which is at the back of the pub is quite big. Lots of seating and they have heaters. I can see this being a great place to drink in the summer or when we have warmer weather. The only reason I am not giving the pub a five star rating is it is not disabled friendly. By that I mean if you had a wheelchair it would be difficult to get around as there are steps at various locations. You could not get to the loo without a ramp and it would be a tight squeeze. If you are o crutches or use a walking stick you will be ok. The Ladies loos nice and clean. The mens too. I didn't get a chance to go upstairs as I am still recovering from illness so too many stairs cause a problem. There's a lot to like at the Victoria Stakes. I will definitely go again.

The food was fantastic and the service was top notch. I didn’t catch her name but one of the staff overheard it was my mum’s birthday and organised us a special pudding. Overall just a lovely experience.

I walked in on a Sunday afternoon to have a Sunday roast, they were fully booked for the pub area, so I asked if they would have any space at the yard, the waitress told me I was more than welcome to try, and actually when I walked to the yard I much preferred that atmosphere! It was cozy, cute, not too busy, just perfect for a Sunday afternoon. We ordered the beef and pork Roast, and the pork was the winner! We also had a mulled wine and fresh mint tea!

We walked in without reservation around 14:00 on Sunday and were told we could only have drinks as kitchen was busy and they could take food order only after 15:30. This was fine with us, so we sat and were enjoying ourselves only to be told they wouldn’t be able to take a food order from us at all due to kitchen being very busy. We spent in the pub more than an hour, there were many empty tables around and very few people actually having food. It definitely didn’t feel like the kitchen was that busy, so we left feeling like we were mistreated and being lied to.

I like this pub very much. It is a traditional local community pub, the environment ~ decor, atmosphere etc ~ of which is really lovely. I find it very relaxing and comfortable. There are areas in which one can sit and have an intimate evening just for two and other areas where larger groups of 12 or more can meet with disrupting the privacy of those wanting a quieter experience.The pub has a comprehensive range of beers and real ales, good wine and cocktail lists, a range of gin and tonic "cups" and a really good food menu!

Very Dog friendly, lovely evening meal with a relaxed atmosphere, with has relaxing jazz music playing in the background. Food was delicious and carefully cooked. The menu is limited, however what they have they do very well. Staff were friendly and attentive, even with the dogs! Will visit again and recommended

One of the best pubs in North London and totally independent! The cheese board nights are to die for

A great refined drinking experience. A well presented pub with a lot of effort gone in to making the floor look good! It does, and having done it myself, I know how much work went into it. Lovely cheerful service, thank you for my beer! The is an upstairs area booked out for a wedding today. Also a great covered courtyard at the rear with seating for many, a most pleasant place for a beer.

Called in by chance after walking through the food market. Advise that you book really (most tables were already booked up ) but we struck lucky (only 2 ppl) . Sunday lunch to die for in a very relaxed setting -with nice beer to wash it all down . One of those rare finds when your not from round here bit ! Easy to recommend.

The yard has a very nice vibe and décor, friendly and professional service (yes, it's possible) and amazing food. Highlights of the evening the scampi pop corn. Cherry on the top, the cocktail menu. Well done guys.
