Fatling & Firkin Pub in Havering

Popular pub in the centre of Hornchurch. Large olde world pub, recently refurbished with large selection of beers. Outside, new heated patio area with 2 TV,s. Menu which includes lunchtime specials.

Was in Hornchurch over the weekend and fancied a pint. Popped into the Fatling and had a fab afternoon. Great tapas plates, especially nice garlic bread and mozzarella sticks. Great beer and Great Service. Can’t recommend enough and will definitely be returning soon

Waited over an hour without receiving my food order (they weren't busy!). It seems my order was overlooked/misplaced or just forgotten! I didn't get an explanation....They offered me my money back or my meal asap (whenever that would be!) Considering they wasted my time I would have expected to be offered my money back AND my meal.Anyway, awful service and attitude especially from the manager dealing with my complaint. I would not recommend and would never go back!Also the 'Doombar' was off so I chose another beer to go with my meal deal which they failed to tell me would cost me over £2 extra!Had I realised they were in the same chain as the Suttons Arms (which is my usual pub 50 yards away) I wouldn't have even gone there! I would recommend the Suttons Arms all day long above this place.UPDATEI can assure you that despite their response below they DID NOT OFFER ME A FULL REFUND AND MY MEAL FOR FREE. THIS IS TOTALLY INCORRECT. THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO SAVE FACE WITH THIS LIE AND THEREFORE CANNOT BE TRUSTED!!!

Crammed would be an understatement, and so very slow service at the bar, outside area was much more comfortable, still standing room only but at least we could breathe!

First visit as in Hornchurch for a friend's leaving party. Nice venue with friendly and polite staff throughout, from the smiling door security team, to the excellent barmaid who had to deal with a busy Thursday evening and having a team of inexperienced newbies to supervise!Really liked the use of MyPub app to make table ordering easy.Food menu had great choice of meals & snacks. I had the Mega Meat Feast which was a very generous plate of chicken fillet, sausages, meatballs, chicken wings, an egg, peas, tomato and a jacket potato!!! I should have taken before/after photos as I managed to eat it all! 😋Great atmosphere in the pub... helped more so by the party atmosphere with my friends!There wasn't any music bands playing on our visit, but have heard that the Fatling often host really good music gigs.

Lovely food, friendly staff, good atmosphere

Went for a lunch time meal and drink. Ordered meal and server checked available. When served up was a completely different choice albeit a pie. Challenged and was told some one new in kitchen. No excuse!. Even the wrong meal served incorrectly,served mushy peas not peas. The food was okay and compensated with a drink,would have been better to get the order right first time and not have to complain. Luckily enough not a first timer..

Great atmosphere, Monday 8pm quiznight a bit hard. But we won tonight!! Yaay!

Great pub, awesome staff and managers who are utterly devoted to making the whole night unbeatable. The pub refurb has certainly been successful and given it a tart up but it’s still the same ol Great Fatling and defo has not lost its roots! So happy to call this the go to best pub on the high street !It’s a must visit!

A few of us went here after work yesterday for a couple of drinks after a hard day at the office. We had a great time, stayed all night, really de-stressed thanks to the team at the pub who really spoilt us snd made us feel special. Thanks for your support Fatling team, we’ll be back!!
